CrZy8 is down due to broken front sub frame. Clicky While apart, thought I'd take some pix of the windshield drive mechanism - most folks don't ever see this.

Nice and clean, well lubricated, and very well loved, as you can tell. I actually sprayed some dry lubricant (graphite) into the runners, but with the plastic on it was a mess.

Wow, that looks like the swing-wing mechanism from an F-14 Tomcat.

Holy cow!!! The GenI is just a threaded rod that moves a carrier up and down, like a jackscrew. The carrier has arms bolted to the bottom bracket of the windshield.

 
Windshield adjusters are dropping like flies on Honda's ST1300. The plastic drive gear strips and the entire assembly has to be replaced for something north of $400. Ouch!
