Just a little down today..... Some one hit my dog yesterday. When I called for my dogs and only two of them showed up, i got concerned because Wolfie has always been the first one to me. Normally he doesn't leave the yard and when I didn't notice any of the dogs around, I knew they were out and about...

At least he was having a good time when it happened....How I wish i would have just spent time playing with the dogs instead of messing around with the chainsaw.....

So, I put the other two dogs up and got in my truck and road up the street, that is where I could see him in the road as I approached....

I checked him out and got him in my truck. The poor guy was having a hard time breathing, I tried to talk to him comfort him as i drove as quickly as I could to the clinic only to find they were closed. So, I drove to another that was some distance away,I figured he may not make it. When i got there he was already gone, at least he went with me talking to him instead of ng hit multiple times laying on the cold payment...

Rest in peace my friend....

Just some photos of my buddy....

:( mike :(

I just feel like I have been experiencing a lot of not so great things lately, frm damage to my property which can be fixed to now this, I feel like I let him down somehow......

Mike

Sorry to see that you have lost your freind, I understand your pain as we recently lost 2 of ours. Time heals luckly..lets you remember the good times they brought you.

Cary

I truly feel for you.

I don't believe you let him down. He was out playing and enjoying himself when this terrible event happened. To me this means he was a happy dog!!!. Dogs that are not happy tend to not to be this happy.

MEMORIES

"The one absolutely unselfish friend that

a man can have in this selfish world,

the one that never deserts him,

the one that never proves ungrateful

or treacherous, is his dog.

A man's dog stands by him in prosperity

and in poverty,

in health and in sickness.

He will sleep on the cold ground where

the wintery winds blow,

and the snow drives fiercely,

if only he may be near his master's

side. He will kiss the hand that has no

food to offer, he will lick the sores

and wounds that come in encounter with

the roughness of the world. He guards

the sleep of his Pauper master as if he

were a prince.

When all other friends desert,

he remains.

When riches take wings and reputation

falls to pieces, he is as constant in

his love as the sun in it's journey

through the heavens.

If misfortune drives the master forth

an outcast in the world, friendless

and homeless, the faithful dog asks

no higher privilege than that of

accompanying him to guard against

danger, to fight against his enemies.

And when the last scene of all comes,

and death takes the master in it's

embrace, and his body is laid away in

the cold ground, no matter if all other

friends pursue their way, there by the

graveside will the noble dog be found,

his head between his paws, his eyes sad,

but open in alert watchfulness,

faithful and true, even in death."

George Graham Vest

So sorry.

Mike,

Really sorry to hear about Wolfie. Seems like yesterday when everyone on the forum was trying to figure out what kind of dog it actually was. I'm glad that you found him and were able to comfort him as he passed away. Give me a call if you have a need to talk about anything, you have my numbers.

Chris

Mike

VERY sorry to hear of your BEST friend. Just a short time back we had to put one of our miniature schnauzers down. She got into some health problems and they were able to save her for about 9 months but it sure was hard to say goodby to the best friend you can ever have. It is wonderful how they are always there for you. always glad to see you, always glad just to have a pat. your world is caving in and no problem, they are glad you are there. what a great day just to take a walk with your friend.

again very sorry to hear of your loss.

best thing to do is get a new best friend. not one to take away the memory of Wolfie, but one to start new memories with. the new one will have little quirks that will give you a smile from ear to ear

when we lost bobbie we went and found a 6 week old min schnauzer KOKO and he is a hand full. just loves to play ball with dad :yahoo:

I am sorry for your loss. I fell in love with that cute guy when I saw his puppy photos you posted previously. He had an impish sparkle in his eyes.

Mike,

Man, my heart goes out to you and your pup Wolfie! No words can console...so I won't say any..but, my thoughts and prayers are with you and Wolfie.

Take care.

Rex

Very sorry to hear that Mike. As tough as you make it sound, I'm sure it was better for him that you were there.

Terribly sorry about your dog...

I hope he different suffer much.

The bonds between dogs and their owners can stronger than the relationships we have with many people.

thank you alll my friends, I truley miss him, even getting the others a treat it broke my heart this morning...and tonight going to buy the dog food, I remember when he was a pup, I woud take him to krogers with me and while I was working outside I would smuggle him with me keeping him inside my coat.

It is true life moves on and I am not much for the emotional stuff, he was a great dog, the first one I have had that I actually went and picked out as a pup,,,

I will remember the good fun times and am so glad that I felt something was wrong and was able to find him in time to spend the last breaths with him talking to him and comforting him as he took his last.

It is true that now i have to enjoy the time with the remaining two.....

I just wish I could take back 30 min yesterday and all would still be the same....
