It's unfortunate that you did this to yourself. This is why I don't ride with music, the phone, zero alcohol etc and pay attention to my surroundings at all times. If you get caught sleeping on the bike it could be game over.

No, wrecks don't 'come in 3s'...that's an old Irish superstition and complete BS. If you are going to put energy into that kind of thinking, change it around to: " Checks come in 3s"

Glad you're ok. Bikes can be replaced. Human body parts aren't that easy to replace or repair.

Having the same bumps and bruises, they would have hurt a hundred times more if that happened on a '16. Now go out and buy a '16, you should be good from here.

Those blue parts came factory on mine. They are also for sale, the only parts on the forks that were not damaged.

Late to this party, but like others, I'm glad you walked away from this accident. Unfortunately, I am a member of the "I lost concentration for one second and paid a hefty price for it" club. I am sincerely hoping our club is closed for good.

I have been in that situation a couple of times lately. Caused by lack of attention, looking at something other than what is in front of me. I am making a vow to keep my attention to where I am going from now on.. I have been too lucky for that luck to last. This post makes me more determined to maintain that goal. Right now I have a garage full of parts to unload. Maybe I can find a leftover next year, it will probably take that long to clear the wreckage.
