I'm looking for a used 2004 Generator Cover as shown below.

I'm also looking for the saddlebag cover insert if anyone has one. Please PM me details.

Thank you in advance!

You might consider pricing these on www.mrcycles.com. They're not too expensive, and if you buy both, you'll qualify for free shipping, and no sales tax.

If the discounted prices are too high for your budget, I hope you are able to find a used one in good condition.

And don't forget the gasket.

Good reminder on the gasket, thank you, El Toro. I just thought that perhaps someone had a blown engine and might want to sell the cover. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

I just looked at mrcycles. Is there a code to qualify for free shipping? The $176 order is showing a shipping charge of $17.05, but it still beats boats.net, the lowest I had found previously. :D

Cheers!

If the bag is structurally sound you might save some dosh by sending it to forum member garauld for a repaint. I have no first hand experience but have heard good thing from other folks who have used him.

The alternator cover is probably best found on eBay or bought new. Find the part number on any parts site and then just type the part number into google to find the lowest prices.

edit - ping forum member hppants about the alternator cover. He has a bad engine in storage (somewere) and it may still have that cover.

Sadly, the free shipping begins at $200. On the bright side, when I make orders, they usually qualify for free shipping. On the less bright side, it does mean that my orders generally exceed the $200 barrier.

My experience with MRCYCLES for the Japanese manufacturers is that they are competitive with the best out there, but if you wanted to order the bag liners, they're a bit more from MR than they are from say Bike Bandit. Not much ... but the point is that they're not always the best price, but most of the time they are.

It would be cool to score the cover from someone with a dead engine ... Good luck with your clean up. I like a guy who tries to keep his bike neat and fully functional.

Thank you, Fred. I'll be in contact with both of those individuals!

It may need more. The fairing is cracked, I hope to be able to repair it. Also, I'm told the mirror was bent. I pick up the bike on Saturday if everything goes as expected, and then I'll assess everything. (Yes. I'm buying it sight unseen, but got a good price from a trusted acquaintance.)

I believe I have found one, I will update the original post as soon as it is confirmed.

Thanks for the replies!
