WTB Throttle Body Cable Pull Cam for 2010

Never mind. I have a solution

The pulley (?) isn't sold separately as you have found. You will probably have to locate an entire used throttle body to get the part. Dunno why you would want/need this part. When the '06 came out with an eccentric pulley (cam) it was corrected by putting a mirrored pulley on the throttle grip to cancel out the throttle body cam resulting in a round action.

I am doing a cruise control install, I drilled and tap the throttle stop for a fastener, the fastener interferes with the throttle cable in the full open position.

My options are.

-Elongate the hole which will destroy the tap.

-Replace the cam and try again.

-Fill with epoxy and try again

-Grind the bageebers out of the machine screw head to make a stud with a stop.

I figure if I could find a cam could give it another go.

Or, you could use a cotter pin. Slip the cotter pin over one of the bead chain links, the eye of the cotter pin will fit between the beads. Put the cotter pin through the hole and fold the legs so that they won't interfere with the throttle stop. Anyhoo, this works on the Gen 1 and I put 110k miles on the bike with this setup and never had a problem.

If you are pulling the TB out anyway, you can take any ring or tab, then with one quick BZZTTT of an arc welder it's becomes one with the throttle tab and you are done.

BTW, grinding the bejeezus out of the screw head has happened in other installs.

I don't have a welder, if I did this would be a non-issue. I'll probably go the stud route at this point. I am adding on to the throttle stop to get a nice linear non-binding pull. It seems most people who struggle with the Rostra, is either the VSS signal or a poor pull on the throttle.

I always bend the tang so it is right on the edge of the idle adjuster. Then drill the tang. If you try to bend it with the hole already drilled be very careful not to break the tang off right at the hole.

Just rotate the throttle open till you can just slip a small adjustable wrench on the tang.

I always use a small button head Allen and it never rubs the throttle cable..
