I'm going to start "stepping it up" a bit on future rallies. This was my first ride of over 200 miles on the FJR. I had transferred much of my LD stuff over from the Venture Royale, but I was clueless as to how it would all work together under rally conditions. I found that some of it was just fine, but other areas need significant improvements, so over the winter improvements will be made.
Then I'm turning up the wick and I'll plan routes considerably more ambitious than the cautions approach I took to this one. I'll try to avoid goat trails though, unless the points really are worth it.
