I was riding on a rural road in the vicinity of Roseville/Lincoln [just north of Sacramento] at about 12:30 p.m.

I saw a non-domestic animal, about 35 lbs, start to dart out in front of me but it reconsidered when it saw me coming . . . I still cannot believe my eyes. You never have a camera when you need one.

Further clues: It was a 4 legged mammal.

I will buy a drink at WFO for whom ever can guess this one!

Um, the amount of undigested red meat in your colon? It grew feet? Say it ain't so.

That is Scruffy. He loves to ride but it is a little cold for him right now. Maybe I could buy him a set of Gerbings.

If my wife is not on the back Scruffy actually prefers to ride on the seat behind me like a pillion.

I once knew a dog named Scruffy.. that dog had the biggest heart of any canine I've ever met.. Parvo as a pup, the only one to survive in the litter. Fearless. Big dogs? No problem.. just jump up and bite their balls/tits off.. great pup. BTW, recent medical reports state that those who indulged in recreationals back in the day can have flashbacks anytime.. You sure what you saw was real?

Well, this particular mammal is indigenous to California. I just spent some time surfing the web to verify my animal identification. Your "baby seal" guess is starting to get warm . . .

I am just glad I didn't run into it and crash. My insurance company would not have believed me . . .
