Evil Henchman - Damn you're good. I owe you a drink! :clapping:

What makes the sighting so remarkable is there is no river in proximity to the area. I went to Yahoo maps and zoomed in. It does show a wetlands and lake to the south in the direction the otter was heading. I wouldn't be surprised to spot one along our rivers or in the delta, but the last place I would expect to see one was in rocky Lincoln at the start of the foothills.

It made my day anyway!

Cool! The only ones I've seen are on the River Otter Taxi boats and on Sacramento Brewing Co's River Otter Beer. Hmmm since Sac Brewing is one of my favorite hangouts and they make such damn fine beer, River Otter being just one of 'em....

:vampire:

this thread is worthless without pictures! now -- did you see something, or was it the LSD you were referring to? ;)

Darn, I was gonna guess a Chupacabra.

It was rabid (had rabies). You know hydrophobia is the fear of water and one sympton of rabies. I bet the little critter was rabid and running from his wet relatives.

Or maybe it WAS the Chupacabra. :)

Salmon and Steelhead have repopulated tiny little creeks that go up through Roseville and Rocklin. I would assumed the current salmon run have the otters cruising around a bit. Very cool sighting!

That ugly fooker got laid ???! Man, I gotta start handing out more beer on date nights !

TC - That creature could be a star in his own movie. He, I mean "IT", makes Godzilla look cute.

Orangevale: Interesting note about fish in small creeks. I should have followed the otter to his secret fishing hole.

Saw 3 otters in Linda Ck. (green belt near Cirby and Sunrise in Roseville) about 3 years ago. Our lab thought they'd be fun to play with, but we wouldn't let her go - figured the 20# water-dwellers could whip her 95# butt in their environment if they didn't realize our dog really did just want to play. Lots of teeth in the ones we saw, but just like the movies, playful, elegant, slippery-looking critters.
