Oh man, oh man, oh man... I have GOT to go for a ride..

Looking for a job sucks.

Old Michael, Durn nice pics as usual. You keep it up, ok? Your pics help keep me sane !!

Another excellent ride report Old Michael.

You sure do live in a beautiful area for motorcycling and have an eye for capturing it "on film". ;)

Thanks again for sharing it with us all.

I still wonder how you cover so many miles in a day and manage to take so many (nice) photos.

OM, Thanks for the barn pic, I forgot to get one on my last ride. My area is starting to turn from the brilliant green it was just a few weeks ago, but I see by your report that the north is still awesome. Nice job on the picture and music selection (Sound Garden's a favorite of mine too) and thanks for clarifying what damn early is. I figured damn early on Saturday meant about 2200 hrs. Friday night!

Wonder what the story is behind the sign in the window?

Your feejer seems to have sprouted an extra set of pipes somewhere along the ride. And you thought nobody looked at your pictures!

Those roads ARE the best. Especially 96. Deb wants to ride that one again soon, and I just love the sweepers on 299 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" :) " border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Great bunch of pics Man.

Maria says she's dyin, through the door I hear her cryin, why, I don't know. Round here, we all sit up straight. Round here, something radiates ....

Spoonman! Come together when you can ....

Dude! Did you still my steal my playlist? What's next .. STP ?

btw I love riding in that area ... best riding in the whole durn country if you ask me.

Thanks for sharing OM. This is a big motivator to get up and ride that area. It's one of the parts of CA I've never been to & I've lived here over 40 yrs!! Damn...where are my keys?

Cheers,

W2

Those are great roads, done them a few times. Great pictures. The road over to Etna and hiway 3 is unique, single lane a lot of the way, and very beautiful.

Indeed, this picture calls the whole trip into question! Did any of it really happen? Is northern Ca really that green this time of year? How come there's no other cars in the other pics except in town? Inquiring minds want to know.

But seriously, nice ride report!

Happy Mother's Day!
Same to you, Mikey. And to all you other mothers. :D
You sentimental dog, Mike.

... Love the rear shot of the bike along the river, with the 4 mufflers. Reminds me of some old Honda CBs...
Swollen, I'm far too young to remember CB350, 500, and 750Fours. Fairlaner tells me about them, when he's been drinking.

I was just commenting in another thread that NorCal FJR Guys weren't as ugly as the SoCals.
Not exactly a ringing endorsement, Don.

Always fun OM, I may get to see a bit of that this year myself.
Kevin, it would be great to see you down this way this summer. Bring your pie-loving amigo.

I'm SERIOUSLY toying with heading down for WFO!
Brother Bungie, it would be cool meeting you. Lots of good riding down thisaway.

And cool trick with the no-kick-stand-pic! :p
Not a trick, nik. FJRs, ESPECIALLY the Gen. II's, "are a beautifully balanced machine, incorporating Yamaha's proven

sportbike engineering, and all of the touring amenities a serious adventurer will insist upon."

You keep it up, ok?
Hal, if I had a nickel....

I still wonder how you cover so many miles in a day and manage to take so many (nice) photos.
Fred, out here there aren't so many people with funny east coast accents, clogging up the roads. You can make better time.

You should plan a trip this way.

Very nicely done Old Michael. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks "old".

Old

(Sound Garden's a favorite of mine too)
One of my sons  got me listening to them.

Wonder what the story is behind the sign in the window?
LD, I'm guessing that come trade-in time, they wouldn't give him the $28K he had invested in his Heritage Softail.

Those roads ARE the best. Especially 96.
And especially on a RED FJR, Rog!

Dude! Did you still my steal my playlist? What's next .. STP ?
...too much walkin',

shoes worn thin

too much trippin'

and my soul's worn thin

time to catch a ride

it leaves today...

It's one of the parts of CA I've never been to & I've lived here over 40 yrs!!
Absolutely no excuse, Wee.

How come there's no other cars in the other pics except in town?
Rod Serling voice.

As usual, OM, you nail the scents, hues and thought provoking images of that amazing route. You got me droolin' -- 96 is one of my favorite roads anywhere. It was Highlander who first suggested 96 to me five years ago, and (along with 36 on the return) was the focus of the first multi-day ride my then 11 week new Feejer took me on. That area was made for Feejers! :dribble:

Those roads ARE the best. Especially 96. Deb wants to ride that one again soon, and I just love the sweepers on 299 :)
Ahem. The blond and I are going to reprise Bluestreek's stellar 2 day route into WFO-9 this year. Leaving Wednesday morn for Yreka via 99, the east part of 36 and 3 north, then Thursday down 96, 299 east, 3 south and the west part of 36 to 101 north to a room at the Red Lion Eureka and adult beverages. Already booked at the Comfort Inn in Yreka and anticipatin' dinner at the Black Bear on Wed. night. Don't know if that's soon enough for Deb, but we'd enjoy the company (and that of MOST of the rest of the scurvy riding company we keep here in norCal). ;) :)
