Just ran across the pic I took when my 08 was delivered in February of 2008. Took one of the 2014 as well. Only two times I have ever took delivery of a vehicle with absolutely 0 miles!
My new 2014A was uncrated, set-up and placed right next to the exit door at the showroom so I could pick it up the next morning. Fortunately, nobody sat on it or otherwise diddled with it before I took it home. Also, no service by any dealers, I do all my own work on all my motorcycles and have for the past 50+ years (except tire mounting/balancing).For what it is worth, if you are about to buy a new bike, tell the service mgr to have the bags off the bike prior to test riding. Also tell the dealer to not put the bike on the showroom floor. I have seen too many new bike with boot scuff on the bags. I would be very clear any scuff on the paint will be a big issue!! When taking the bike back for follow up service remove the bags as well.
Not necessary. My dealer will wash mine at the 100,000-mile service.A little "anal retentive" are we Art?
It's all good. I appreciate a scratch free new car experience as much as anybody, but relax a little. Fer Chrissakes, it's an FJR. Ain't like you're ever going to wash it after you buy it.
You're not,,,,, are you?
