Crapola, so close to NAFO, not much time.

Questions first -

  1. Ok to weld, in situ, if battery/ECU disconnected?
  2. Will the CrestonHondaRosaRedNeck fix last a 3k ride?
  3. What's the worst case scenario? Entire backend fall into tire?

Oh for fuks sake Carver.. You have a welder and I know damned well you can use it.. Toss those Appalachian fix it straps and fix it right you *****.

DUDE...Can you stop braking breaking ****? How hard is it?

BTW, disconnecting the ECU and battery should be sufficient. AND, that zip-tie fix is probably stronger than the original weld. Ride the **** outta it.

Kinda says why the rear subframe failed what with her propped up on it while gnat **** rails away on her.

Doode, all I have is Gas... and that's an aluminum piece yes?

Besides, have you seen my welds? JD Tractor approved, yes... but if I tried on KrZy8 it would be a flame throwing disaster...

Now *thats* the attitude I like! Rode a CB750 Honda for 1k miles with bailing wire when the subframe broke.. And in those days the fender *would* hit the tire!

Still wondering about all the electronics though.. Really, OK to Tig/Mig whatever is right weld in place?

Geez Don, if it wasn't for back luck, you'd have no luck at all! If'n you can't get it heliarc repaired by NAFO liftoff time, just add some JB weld along with those ty wraps and go fer it!

Exactly! You must be a FARMER!

Those ty-raps did stabilize, if I carry light stuff in the top case, pretty sure it will be OK.

I ask again - worst case scenario is?

OK to weld in place? (battery, ECU disconnected?)

hmm. I DO just happen to have plenty of JB Weld material.... ;)

Not to change the topic, but it does sound like given the terrain you ride daily the next Yamaha you buy should be the Super Tenere

Take it easy on it and leave a little early. I'll weld it when you pass through. If you want to do it right we can take it off and reinforce it but it will take longer so you would need to be a day early.

Ray, one of the two great buds to help transplant an engine into KrZ8!

Surly, will send you pix of NaFo... :yahoo:

Aw ****....I forgot he was dating that chick that dumped you!. Broke Yer heart if I remember right...sorry man.

AND Carver, the Tig shouldn't push enough voltage to damage any wiring. Maybe enough to scramble the computer, but other than that, you should be good with just the major disconnects. If you're still not sure, take Ray up on his offer and take the sub frame off.
