I don't think we've ever done this, but we might as well get a little recognition here, since we don't have an icon for these expensive little awards. Let's keep the responses to the new millenium -- Jan. 1, 2000 to present -- moving violations on motorcycles only. Post 'em up, guys (and speedy gals).

1) How many performance awards (speeding tickets) have you received on your FJR -- convicted, acquitted, etc.?

2) How many performance awards (speeding tickets) have you received on other bikes -- convicted, acquitted, etc.?

3) How many other moving violations have you received on motorcycles (please identify) and what was the charge -- convicted, acquitted, etc.?

Anything else you need to be recognized for in this area of endeavor? Anything especially stupid, funny or obnoxious to be disclosed? Details? Rants?

Here's mine (fortunately no longer than this):

1) Single performance award on FJR in May '08 at Twin Bridges E.B. on Hwy 50 (LIDAR). Miscalendared response date and missed opportunity to contest -- pled guilty to cited 73mph in a 55 zone (in the friggin' passing lane).

2) Single performance award on '03 XX in August '06 on Wentworth Springs Road near 11 Pines Road (RADAR). Acquitted in trial by declaration of a cited 65mph in a 55 zone (open range out in the boondocks).

Performance Awards ?? Well , ZERO of course..!!

There's a reason for those posted speed limits ,,, Guy ... :angry2:

( it's called generating revenue ,,, :assassin: )

Besides aren't the speedo's on bikes off about 15 mph ???

So,, I figure I'm good at a plus 20...

Having one of these

has saved my ass several times

Only one. Somewhere west of Austin Nevada on the way home from NAFO. 112 in a 70. The cop was great and wrote it as local juristiction 75 in a 70 and no impact on license or insurance. Cost 67.00 via debit card. He said the only reason he stopped us was it was the week before Sturgis and he was told to slow down the bikes after a fatal accident the previous day.

HAR! Well, whatever is the easiest way to detail the rap sheet. How many pages is it?

Surely you won't be challenging Sacramento Mike's efforts to balance state budgets?

Just one. Got popped in Rock Springs,Wy. on my way to Reno,Nv. for one of the WFOs. Only for 10 over (85 in a 75) as I was going around a semi, cost me 95 bucks. I still have the reciept from the Sweetwater Circuit Court pinned to the riding map on my bedroom wall. ;) I was actually only going 10 over so no break was given nor requested.

Think I pist off the driver due to my cheery attitude. It was a beautiful morning and an incredible view where they stopped me, nothing was going to ruin it.

His partner kept me company and remarked what a great day to be on a motorcycle. I think if it was up to him I wouldn't have gotten the ticket.

Didn't contest it as I was silently grateful they hadn't clocked me 15 minutes earlier. :p Left Michigan at 2 am the day before, think it was around 9 or 10 am there. Somewhere I have an envelope with my receipts and notes for that trip. I qualified for an SS1500 with only a couple of minutes to spare somewhere off Hwy 50 in Co. but never sent in the paperwork.

Just one. Day 2 on the FJR bringing her home from the out of town dealer. 118 in a 50 (Canadian speeds!)

- Mandatory court appearance.

- $700 for a court agent (optional),

- $750 fine (probably a lot more without the previous)

- 7 day suspension. (see above)

- :(

Good thing I had gotten a relatively good deal on the FJR.

Before anyone one jumps all over me for my stupidity, in my defense, it was a clear sunny day on a clean, straight, secondary highway outside the city where the speed limit had been reduced from 100 to 50 (unbeknown to me, probably the week before) for pending construction work. Sheriff, who looked like he was about 12, had not yet learned how to apply logic to speed enforcement. Luckily my friend driving behind me, with my daughter in the truck, was spared the same fate as I took one for the team! :dribble:

Just one, last August 10th. In town, sitting at a stop light, on my way to work. Started out, power felt good, gave it an extra twist, and shifted into second. 48 in a 30. Dickless tracy did not have any sense of humor or any compassion for an old man. Got it deffered, so until next summer, ride like a good samaritin.

Got one going 92 on the freeway back in October I think. In my defense I was going 92 on the freeway. Had to go to level 2 traffic school (I did not know there was such a thing) because of some prior incidents in the car.
