First call for the Second Southern Indiana Doo-Dah. (It would be an annual event but I dropped the ball last year because my daughter was getting married)

The Second Southern Indiana Doo-Dah (Doo-Dah-Dos) will be held May 18-19-20, 2007. The plans are…….that there aren’t any plans…..no T-shirts…..no dinner……no door prizes……no dance. We will arrive at the Brown County Inn in Nashville, IN, Friday evening, have a nice meal and enjoy the music in the little lounge. Saturday we will ride as many Southern Indiana semi-twisties as possible, followed by another evening of good food, cold beverage, and swapping of tall tales. Then Sunday we will ride as many roads as possible before each of us has to head home. We did this in 2005, had really lousy weather and still had a blast. I think about 10 folks showed up at varying times throughout the weekend. The only folks I know that will be there for sure…..Wayne and me. So I would estimate attendance…..somewhere between 2 and 50. Obviously, any and everyone is welcome, with or without companion, whatever works for you. If there are enough scooters for multiple groups, I would expect at least one of them to be somewhat spirited. FJR’s are not a requirement, but suggested. SO if you don’t have one yet, you should go buy one! Just kidding, everyone is welcome.

Here is the link to the Brown County Inn.

This is a nice older, quaint little inn. I have not checked with them, but on some weekends, they require booking both Fri and Sat night. At any rate…..there will be at least 2 of us there on Friday night and at least 2 of us leaving the parking lot Saturday and Sunday morning…..so All Y’alls come join us.

I would like to go. I'm not sure I can get out of work that friday, but I could meet at the inn Friday night. I'm only about 2 hours from the inn. Wonder if I should bring the wife or not. I can't ride nearly as fast with her on, or else i get my nutz squeezed (not in a good way).

I'll have mine, and I'll get the same squeezing.

Just added it to my calendar. I live in Greenwood and will ride down for the rides each day.
Drew I'll be riding down from North Salem maybe meet up with ya in Morgantown I'll be coming across on 252 from Martinsville.
Sounds good. When rainman sets up an agenda I’ll get in touch to set up a time. I will have my wife behind me on one of the days.

TWO questions:

How spirited is the "2-up" riding on this here doo-dah? How many miles do you guys ride on Saturday?

If I come alone, I might be able to keep up with slow end of a spirited group of riders.

If I bring my wife along, I would back way off. I would like to go on more stuff with my wife and thought this might be a pretty close event for her to attend. However, she said "she doesn't want to ride all day Saturday"...so maybe it would be better if I just took her on a little trip to SW WI.

My two questions still remain though.

I would like to take her along if "the fit" is right.

If the "fit" isn't right for her, I would like to come if I can find someone to room share/split costs.

Can anyone help me out here?

I hope this helps. First year for an FJR so I was not part of the group last year.

I will have my wife along on Saturday and I will be taking it easy. Sunday I will be one up and hope to find a medium group (I took a twenty year break from bikes and will have to work on my skills) to run with. You can always catch up at the stops.

If you would like to meet up with the group for breakfast I could meet you at one of the greasy spoons in Morgantown at 7:30 and we could ride down to the Inn. When it warms up and I get my bike back together I will make a trip down that way to set a precise location.

Sounds like a plan!

This is now on my calender.

If weather and work permit, i'll be there all day Sat. (at least)

Bean Bloosom on 45 to Bloomington to Bedford to Shoals on 450 is slammin.

135 S of 46 is a fav. too. (58 closes to loop)

FYI, Brown County Inn has a nice lunch buffet.

When you get to shoals, 150 to west baden is fun, but right now it's got ALOT of winter sand left on it. a very trechrous 15 miles.

clicky

I bumped everyone that was on the fall Brown County ride.

Chilly start, but a great day. :)
