Excellent!

But I *think* that's the same weekend as the MD-2020 rally, which I've been trying to actually ride now for 3 years. :)

If it's not, or if something keeps me home, then I can do this.

Will check the calendary - Wife and I are headed down to Evansville tomorrow from Indy, then up along the river to Madison. Stop is at a B and B near the Abby in Cannelton ( https://www.bbonline.com/in/castlebury/rooms.html ) now if only they will return my phone call........

Just got the bike of my break in service and she is ready to go. The bike feels good too.

Work in a breakfast at the Story Inn - the place is unbelievable ane 135 is THE road down there.

TWO questions:How spirited is the "2-up" riding on this here doo-dah? How many miles do you guys ride on Saturday?

If I come alone, I might be able to keep up with slow end of a spirited group of riders.

If I bring my wife along, I would back way off. ...

Can anyone help me out here?
I will plan to ride at least on Saturday, and I definitely fit well in the back with the far-less-than-spirited crowd, solo or 2-up. Hope you can join us!

Hi!

I'm local (Columbus) and will be at the Brown County Inn Saturday morning the 19th to ride with you guys. I'll be riding solo

Saturday. Sunday is up to the wife.

Rather excited for the chance to ride with a group other than my cruiser buddies. I might actually get to use the other 98% of the throttle on a group ride.

So the Castlebury is a work in progress - They have been restoring it if you are into the B & B thing. Another 6 months and it will be pretty cool - IndianaTom was right - not much in that town but a cool little place - one block off of St. Rd. 66 - Speaking of which...... this is a must drive road east of Cannelton then north through the Hoosier National forest. Road the whole thing from Evansville to where it meets up with I64 - great road all the way though. Just a little cold at around 32 degrees.

Looks like we are developing a group.

I just remembered that I had not made a reservation at the Inn.......just called......there are no rooms available for Friday-18.....and a 'few' left for Saturday. I will still be there Friday evening for dinner as I live only about 50 miles from there. Then be back early Saturday morning and staying Saturday night at the Inn. Looking forward to it.

Not sure where to best post this.

I just rode Indiana SR 135 and wanted to warn everybody. Southbound SR 135 from Story to about half way to Freetown is sandy as hell. In some turns there is sand from the edge of the road to the centerline- no way to ride around it. Northbound SR135 in the same area is in pretty good shape except for a few turns. Personally I'd avoid SR 135 southbound in this area for a few days.

Yep, I saw the same on Sunday. Although everything else was all clear and perfect (except the turtles are on the move).

FJRocket and I were there on Sunday also. I gotta tell ya, that first sandy slip does alot to slow me down.

What are the tentative scheduled ride meetup times? On Saturday? On Sunday?

Sorry if this has already been posted...I looked but didn't find it.

Never mind. I see the 9am ride time in post 11.

I will probably come down Friday afternoon or evening if all works out and ride Sat & Sun - then jet back to Wheaton.

Will be splitting room with griff. See y'all there!

Just one other question...will turn directions be handed out?

Hullo?? tap-tap-tap..."Is this thing on??"
Wondered the same thing myself. I know a least one FJR will be there Saturday Morning...Mine! If you read the orgnal posts, it's an informal ride. I'm guessing that the routes won't be decided until Friday night or Saturday morining.

Rode quite a bit of this today...58, 43, 158, 450, 150 are 98% clean. Too much fun!

Hey folks, I haven't forgotten, just been busy.

I'll try to have some maps copied for Saturday. Bluebullet's suggested route certainly looks like a good trip as well.

Depending on how many bikes we have there on Saturday, we'll determine how many groups to form.

I will be there by about 6:00pm on Friday for dinner and comraderie, staying at home on Fri-nite (near Indy) and back for breakfast and ready to ride Saturday morning. Looking forward it and hoping we have some dry weather.

Here's the forecast from 8 days out... :clapping:

I'm in as long as Mother Nature continues to bestowe her blessings upon us.

If there is interest in a "semi-spirited" pace on a longer route, even down into KY, I'm up for that. I've played with a couple routes, one stays in Indiana, but just barely. ;) My proposed routes stay off the main highways as much as possible. Neither route would be a "smell the roses" kind of tour. However, it won't be an insane peg dragger, buck plus ride, either.

The "Little Dog" route is just under 300 miles. It goes to Corydon, then down near the Ohio river, down to Derby, Rome, then over to Tell City and back "the back way" through Shoals and Bedford.

The "Big Dog" route is 350 miles and goes into KY. It's a big loop that goes all the way to Leitchfield and back, still staying off major highways as much as possible. In KY, there aren't many highway options, but the secondary highways down there always seem to be a lot of fun, with light traffic and friendly motorists.

If you all plan on an early dinner, the Big Dog probably wouldn't work. The nice thing is, though, the two routes I might take are exactly the same on the northern half. If the ride starts to run late, I could easily expedite back to the northern leg to save some time. More than likely, the little dog route will be plenty and it should be a really pretty ride down near/along the Ohio river and back.

Let me know if anyone is interested. If you PM me your email I can send you a S&T file and/or a MapSource file (once I finalize my route and convert the file).

Anybody else still planning on attending that doesn't have a room yet?

I looked at it and there is availability for a room for this friday night. I would like to go up there friday, ride all day sat. and return to KY sat. night.

The room is about 125.00 with tax and stuff.

Anyone who is still considering going want to split a room? Let me know soon so I can reserve it.

Keith
