I had a 2007, and did way too much riding on it. I even did a Saddle Sore 1500.😲

Then I sold the 2007.😟

Then I wandered the earth on various other "less than" bikes.💩

Now I'm shopping again for a FJR, a Gen 3.

I found wayyyyy too many FJRs I can afford right now.

So, the sponsorship opportunity is to fund therapy so I can rid myself of this mental defect.
(The treatment will most likely fail and I will surely relapse and use the money for Windex to clean off bugs from the windshield and helmet)

PS - I already have a route planned for the bike I can't resist for another Saddle Sore 1500 ride when I pick it up. 😜

PPS - Do you have to check a helmet when you fly, or can it be carried on? 🤷‍♂️

PPPS - If I wear the helmet instead of checking and carrying it on the flight, would that be ok?

You can carry on helmet. When I flew to my Ducati, I had a kreiga tail bag and my helmet ( in it's bag). Put them in overhead.

FYI: 1500 in under 24 hours is a Bun Burner Gold. In under 36 hours is a Bun Burner. Don't undersell either by calling it a Saddle Sore (1000 in 24).

Helmet is ok to carry. If you have tail or back pack be sure there are no tools inside. If you carry tools you will have to check the bag as luggage. Been there done that.

Depends on the tools
I had a set of tools in my bag.Nothing pointy. Pack it right at opening so that when they pull you aside they will appreciate it being easily accessible. TSA guide lines are very clear about what you can and cannot bring.

I flew to pick up my bike. Ditto to the helmet inside a Kriega 50 bag. Awesome ride to San Diego from Jefferson City, MO to Escondido, CA.
If you're not aware, 30 miles north of Escondido is Hwy 79 that takes you from Temecula over Laguna Mountain to Hwy 8, some of the best riding in the Riverside/ San Diego area. A weekday ride on 79 through Wine Country up to the tree line of Laguna Mountain really is quite memorable.
Just an FYI

I lived in San Diego for 30+ years. Rode most of the back roads alone and with friends. Did one ride from Temecula to Mesa Verde to Banner grade and Ocotillo then Chula vista one April. We started off in cool weather, rode through snow in Mesa Verde, back to desert heat, and then spring like temps when I arrived back in Escondido. I miss the roads, not the cost of living and politics. I went dormant for a bit right after I bought this bike in 2019 and then we moved in 2022. Sorry our paths never crossed on the road.
