    Need Half an FJR

I'd suggest looking at the Kawasaki EX500 Ninja. My wife didn't feel comfortable on my VFR as it was too heavy and tall for her. Not quite as beefy as my FJR but still too much for her. She went with the smaller Ninja and really liked it. Fit her fine, light weight but still enough power to...

    Suzuki M50 Cruiser

I don't have one but a friend bought one about a year ago and really likes it. He comes from a sport bike background and this is his first foray into the "cruiser" market. He finds the bike to be light and small enough for commuting back and forth while spirited enough for a good grin factor...

    Ear-plugs

Not really sure of all the places to buy...my wife actually considered getting a set through her work since she works in a noisy environment. There are a bunch of local companies around that supply hearing protection and any one of those should be able to set you up. The ones I bought are...

    Ear-plugs

I never travel without them. I've tried different types in the past but bought a set of custom made plugs at a bike show 3 or 4 years ago. These fit comfortably inside the ear and block many of the higher frequencies but still let me hear all the sounds I need to. I commute all year and the...

    Backoff WigWag install problem

Ummmm...yeah...so I did a full re-check of all the wiring and found that it was installed correctly but when I hooked up the ground wire I managed to pinch one of the other ones. Doh! A bit of cleanup to take care of this problem and "eureka"! Problem solved. Thats for the reminder to look for...

    Backoff WigWag install problem

Good idea. I must have checked that incorrectly however as I did check the voltage but didn't see any pulsing even on the side that actually works. I'll check again though as I may have incorrectly wired the meter... Yeah I agree...after I check for the pulsation and the connections, if it...

    Backoff WigWag install problem

I've installed a Backoff WigWag brake light modulator but am having a problem getting it to work properly. Currently, only the left side blinks on and off while the right side does nothing. Both taillights are working and if I disconnect the Backoff device, both taillights and brake lights work...

    Windshields

Actually it says "+ 4.5" meaning 4 and a half inches taller than the stock shield.

    WigWag installation problem

Hmmm...after installing my "old man" reading glasses, it appears that both taillights have burned out running lights. Something I did during the installation must have buggered them up. Any hey before you say it, I write software for a living...I suck at this stuff

    WigWag installation problem

I did a search but can't find anything like this anywhere...I'm sure there's a simple answer and I'm hoping one of you guys has it. I installed a SignalDynamics brake light modulator today but after the hookup my FJR bulbs no longer light up as running lights. Brake lights work fine and they...

What TBS Tool Do You Use?

Morgan for me too. Dead easy to use. Has to come all the way from across the UK but the folks there were friendly, easy to deal with, and I got the carbtune in about a week (most of that time was probably spent in customs). Top notch equipment and I'm happy. Darcy

    St1300 Woes

You also have to remember that, no matter what it is, someone's gonna be unhappy with it. I can't imagine all ST owner's to be happy anymore than I expect all FJR owner's to be happy. My '04 FJR has given me nothing but pleasure. I've read lots of complaints about the heat but it doesn't bother...

    Avon Or Metz

I agree. I'm running the Z6's now and find them much better than the original 4's. I look at it this way...if I don't have to think about my tires, they must be working, right? With the Z6's, the grip is good and they handle really well in rain (which we get in abundance up here). Mileage is...

At What Milage Did You Replace Your Brakes?

I've already changed my front pads twice and currently have about 25,000 KM's on my bike (so that's about 15,000 Miles). I commute daily in traffic so the brakes get a lot of use. I primarily use font brake only which is why I haven't had to touch the rears yet. I check the pads frequently and...
