I use a pair of Burton ski/snowboard mittens. They have individual finger pockets within the mitten so you maintain some dexterity, and a pocket on the outside that holds a chemical handwarmer. Effective for up to 4 hours at temps as low as the high 30's.

On the 1150's watch out for that old bug-a-boo surging fuel injection. It may seem negligible on a test ride but the longer you ride the more intrusive it becomes. Supposedly the 1200's have it sorted out but I have seen an occasional review that mentions imprecise fuel metering. (In fairness...
