Where can I find beat up fairings? (Any motorcycle)

Thanks esteemed gentlemen. I would not have thought of either of your ideas.

Where can I find beat up fairings? (Any motorcycle)

After watching many Windy Urtnowski videos like the one below I want to try repairing fairings. The kind of fairings I'm looking for should be nearly worthless. Cracks, breaks, holes and missing sections would be great. Where can I find cracked and broken fairings for cheap? Any advice is much...

    04 FJR 1300

Looks like a real nice bike in the ad, which is all I know. Craigslist is a bother to me. I skip a lot of those threads. If I try to filter for anything I loose listings I want to see. So here's a public service link to the listing because I found it...

    Best/favorite online video editor (free)

Wondershare is $40. I'm leaning toward Adobe Premiere Elements 13 is $70. I have some tutorials to watch.

    Best/favorite online video editor (free)

RadioHowie, thanks very much for the video link. I watched the video and then read the Wondershare video editor customer reviews on Amazon. There was a lot of video editor frustration. Much of it sounded familiar. I understand a lot better what the problem is with beginner video editing. It's...

    Best/favorite online video editor (free)

Newbie question here, what low price video editor smoothly edits MP4 videos on Windows? Anything that doesn't edit MP4 is worthless to me. MP4 capability seems to up the cost 10x.

    2008 FZ1 TE

I know any bike can tour, but non-touring bikes make lousy touring platforms no matter what you do to them. Just look at how that poor unfortunate Bandit is setup in that photo! No, no, no, pleeeeeze. No bike should suffer like that :D . I've ridden a new FZ1. Hard bags? TE fairing and screen...

Can the linked brakes be unlinked?

Shut up Juan or I'll have to buy an FJR this spring! OK, maybe I should. Maybe I will... Damn. :D

Can the linked brakes be unlinked?

All I've read says the linked system works super well. But as far as the question of the mechanical details, it sounds like reworking the hydraulic lines might fairly straightforwardly de-link the system and re-plumbing the unused front piston into the circuit for the rest of the front brakes...

Can the linked brakes be unlinked?

Wow, I'm hoping NOT to start that kind of thread! My interest is in the mechanical practicality of de-linking the system, not in the goodness or lack thereof with the system. I know myself as a rider and I prefer unlinked brakes on ANY BIKE OF MINE. I repect others that disagree.

Can the linked brakes be unlinked?

I think ABS is great, but I don't like linked brakes on a sporty bike. So, can the FJR Linked brakes be unlinked? Anyone do this yet? Is it theoretically practical or would it be so difficult nobody will bother? (I used Search for "Linked Brakes", but could not find a definitive answer.) Thanks.

Sold FJR, New BMW in the Stable

You will love your new bike. The GS is probably the neatest bike BMW ever built. I love BMW's too. But the final drive thing is not overblown. Neither is the mainteance thing. I lost a final drive on my BMW RT at 11,000 miles. Warranty did cover it like you said, but bottom line is BMW's are...

Rented an 05 today - need advice on second gen

Rent a FJR you say? THANKS! I think I gotta rent me one of those! I've rented a Harley Road King (whooo, not my kind of thing AT ALL...) A GL1800 Gold Wing (Wife loved it, I did not...) and a brand new at the time GSX-R600 (rode it for the ergos before buying an R1. Test successful, but didn't...

    04 FJR vs 03 FZ1

Boy you got me on that one. The Sprint ST would be half way between the FZ1 and FRJ. But I'll pass anyway. For some reason Triumphs don't register with me. I never think about them and when I'm in a dealership or at a bike show, I walk right past them like they are not even there. I don't even...

    04 FJR vs 03 FZ1

The buffeting on any bike seems to be such an individual issue. Everyone's body, helmet, screen, likes and dislikes prevent a one size fits all solution. I've had buffeting problems on almost all bikes and I've been able to solve them for the most part. The strongest appeal of an FJR to me is...

    04 FJR vs 03 FZ1

Thanks for the writeup. I have an 03 FZ1 and thoughts of moving to an FJR so it is nice to read this. Very helpful.
