New FJR arrives in the North

Was in Edmonton yesterday (Sat. 20th). It's quite likely that he was in a white out. It's been one the worst springs, so far, that I can remember. But I'm not that old. Well, compared to most folks around here.

    The FJR's Stock Suspension SUCKS!

+1 Did mine at 40k miles. Too long! Before dumping the old oil I checked the level in the forks. Both sides were low, right side over an inch low. I knew the seals were seeping, but I didn't think that much!

    Tonopah to Vegas--Suggestions?

Marcus is right. Dante's peak is worth the ride in.

    Tonopah to Vegas--Suggestions?

You can carry on through Jubilee pass. It is an awesome ride. Iggy's route with this slight modification is the way to go. IMHO

Wheat Belly, or,.. How to get a few decades younger

If I stop eating wheat, am I going to live longer than 75 3/4 years? Probably not. For some in the world, it would be shorter cause they would starve.

    another cruise install question

I can see clearly now. When I ordered the kit from Murph's, I also ordered the vacuum cannister. I'm impressed with this unit. I has 2 ports and has an internal check valve (nice feature). The unit appears to have a Ford part number on it. Here it is on the bike where I intend to put. The fit...

    another cruise install question

My servo doesn't appear to have a spring cause you can slide the cable in and out and it stays put where you leave it.

    another cruise install question

Thanks Spud. Good to hear. Is what I'm planning.

    another cruise install question

I too, am installing the audiovox as we speak. I am sure I have read every thread about this all the way back to 2006. This place does rock as the op says. Fred W, are you still getting suitable performance with using one TBS vac port and a single check valve?

Upsizing Rear Tire to 190/55 (w/ pics)

Your numbers seemed low. Also, I was going to ask you if they were the same brand of tire. Still learning to read.

2013 Saddlebags just delivered won't open

My dealer experience when I purchased is that you're better off doing it yourself, along with some good advice from this place.

Upsizing Rear Tire to 190/55 (w/ pics)

I calculated the circumference at 1978mm vs 2012mm. See post #34. Obviously this is meaningless, as fossilrider pointed out, lots of manufacturing tolerences. Top speed should have measured the circs of those 2 tires when he took the picture! Maybe, next time try the smaller size. Won't be able...

Upsizing Rear Tire to 190/55 (w/ pics)

I have a PR3 190/55 on now. Mounted up, it's not any wider than my last tire (Storm 2 180/55) when comparing the distance it is from the brake caliper strut. It definately is bigger around, speed on GPS is prolly within 2 mph of what's indicated on the bike; it was never that close with the any...

New VS Used -and other bikes

You're right, I did have the new ones in mind. Used, maybe not so crazy. One of the things that sells me on the FJR is the regular pump gas and increased range compared to C14. I find that even the FJR's range is unacceptable. The RT really shines here, though.

    Sargent seat report.........

I think the height is the same. Slightly wider.

New VS Used -and other bikes

I'm just going to throw this out there. Flienlow, if you buy a Concours or RT over the FJR, you're crazy. Now, if you we're to acquire a K1600GT, I'd be jealous.
