What did you do to your FJR today?

Finished up my tire change. I acquired Honda Pro Moly 60 and used it on the hub splines, and universal joint. Lubed the suspension linkage. Clean linkage and good splines, further confirmed previous owners have maintained my Gen 1 low mileage bike. Aligned and tightened the pumpkin. Bolted up...

    1st Pass Drag times

The bandit may have a better power to weight ratio. And I don't know if the windshield helps or hurts in the drag race. But that's why I go, just to see what I can do - reading a magazine and producing the time yourself are two different things.

    1st Pass Drag times

Good idea, but it will be a while before I mount it, and have enough time on it to take it to the track. I think I will maybe use a sharpie to make some small marks that day I mount it and if I think about it do it again if/when I go back to the track.

    1st Pass Drag times

Ha Ha, funny you should mention that, one reason I was sort of in a hurry to get to the track was that I already have an Exalto. I wanted a time-slip with the PR2 though before I mount it. And the PR2 has a little more burn out life in it. I'll request my number once I have 1000 miles on the...

    1st Pass Drag times

Most of the fun is in the 1/8th but it is nice to wind it up a bit legally. I have not ridden any other Gen's - but I sure see the comparisons on this forum..... I did not get to a rhythm to launch last night. My best was just a roll up and hey it's my turn ? I better go. Or in other words...

    1st Pass Drag times

That experiment might not be too hard to do, but I do like running in street configuration, even if I did leave the bags at home. Do you think you could get close with some special suspension settings? I wonder if removing the windshield would help. You know it's just never enough. Any...

    1st Pass Drag times

Ok, I found that thread - search finds so much but the key was Useless Pickels and 2 years ago. Yep, the video is like mine except it was dark last night Good to see I'm in the ball park any way. I would have done pretty well against the 2009 V-MAX except he red lighted each time - so I...

    1st Pass Drag times

It was a busy night at the track but I was able to make a few passes. My best result was 11.3 at 121 mph – so there is room for improvement. The 60’ time was 1.8 and that is where I could improve I think. Maybe, play with the shift points if I get relaxed enough to pay attention. There were...

The FJR has pushed my cruiser into oblivion

Bgross – good to hear about the Hondapotamus – that’s is one bike I have been eyeing – is it an 1800? I mean I liked the Valkyrie I had for cross country, but I’m planning my next trip of course to try the FJR. Still the back of my mind is wing for my “old age” ha ha. But since it is heavier...

The FJR has pushed my cruiser into oblivion

Since I've gotten the FJR I have thought about the other bikes I've had and bikes I might like to have and for now I think if any of those were in the garage next to it, I would still choose the FJR for most rides. The more I ride it, the better I like it.

For my friend Richard - 1400 HP 65 Malibu

And with a time better than our FJR's - although I have no actually data for mine yet, I do plan to go to a local test & tune night before I change out my tire. I'd be real excited to be in the high 10's

For my friend Richard - 1400 HP 65 Malibu

The perfect resto rod. Hear in FL the AC is a requirement. I think I would smile most days if I saw that was sitting in the driveway. like I do when I see the FJR :-)

    Any Briggs n' Stratton

Sounds like a better setup than the air flap - I like this forum - always learning new things :-) - my new guess - yep the weights are stuck :clapping:

    Any Briggs n' Stratton

The air flow from the flywheel blows over the cylinder fins. Along the way it pushes a flap which pulls the throttle closed as the engine spins faster and the air flow increases. It is a balance from the air flow to the spring which holds the throttle open. If that spring is to strong or the air...

    spanked by a 75+ woman

As my drag racing buddy would say "Smoke equals loss of race" The traction control on the newer vettes and probably the merc cl 600 etc is simple amazing taking the tires to the limits. It is highly unlikely you would win with a manual clutch unless you had a perfect launch and your car was...

    whisling noise from motor gen1

I was just wonder about the noise too. I've put on 1400 miles on a 2004 which now has a total 10800 miles. The bike runs great, the engine does not sound like it has a problem to me but I agree it is one loud whine at times. It just could be those balancers. Good to know I'm not alone in...
