Take this for what its worth

I hear ya bout hanging onto an otherwise "Super" bike. I've worked out a pretty good "band-aid" already with the combo of a remapped PC and G2 throttle. It's a "keeper" now, even as-it-is, but a real "fix" would be some more iceing-on-the-cake. -----

2007 Altitude Surging Problem - Members Wanted

It can definitely occur above 6000. Someone wrote in about the serious trouble they had getting up Pike's Peak, and the very base of the peak begins at over 6K. There are others (above 6K) as well, but that one stuck in my mind. ----- Four wheels move the body, but two wheels move the soul.

    Throttle Control

This would be precisely what I have just finished doing on mine. I installed the PC a few weeks ago, and the G2 a couple days ago. Noticeably better "control" now. I have done some remapping of the PC due to the "surging" issue that some of us have, but the control issue was improved even by...

    PCIII and the O2 Sensor

Mine ('07) was a gray 4-pin connector. Presumably the "2-wire" was something "earlier(?)".

    EBC HH brake pads

I'm right in there with the rest of the reply's so far. I've run the EBC's on my last 5 or 6 bikes, including an '03 FJR. Truely a good pad!

    Son just got a YZF-R6s

Somehow I don't think the off-road "TT" type of can, is a legitimate comparison here. Apples-and-oranges, as the saying goes. I've heard a lot of different pipes on GSXR's, and the Scorpion is a nice one. It would be the same basic can for the R6, and not near as loud (baffle in) as most.

2007 Altitude Surging Problem - Members Wanted

Yeah, I know. It seems like the problem should be reversed (get richer instead). If you look at the "stock" PC map (which does help some as you say), you'll see that they have set the bike richer in the 2% and 5% throttle ranges where this "problem" exists. I have gone even a bit richer...

    Son just got a YZF-R6s

Scorpion makes a nice sounding can. Put it on my GSX-R750. It has a removable baffle, which if left in, makes it not too loud but still a very nice "tone".

I hear ya. Tried to give a heads-up on this back in note #33. You do seem to need to disconnect the O2 sensor if you haven't already. They (Dyno-Jet) make it like a "suggestion", but it really does seem to be needed. Then you need to further enrichen at least the 2% throttle column of their...

    So I rode a GSXR-600 Today

After test-riding most of the "smaller" sportbikes out there, it came down to two that were VERY impressive to me. The new Honda CBR600, and the Suzuki GSX-R750. I ended up picking the 750, but they were both GREAT !

    having issue with new tires

Bridgestone seems to be working real hard lately at putting out some good "rubber" ('002, '014, '021). Maybe they're inspired by having some GP wins under their belt.

    having issue with new tires

Have a friend who just put the 021's on his VFR. He's a pretty aggressive rider, so his tires do get put to the test. Says they're absolutely fantastic. They'll be the next thing to go on mine. I've had the same "groove" issue discussed here with these OEM 020's.

    Stumbling problem solved.

    >"I think it was worth the money."< I'd have to agree, since the "stock" PC mapping didn't quite eliminate the problem totally. At least not at Rocky Mountain type elevations. I'd be curious as to what your mapping ended up at after "tweeking".

2007 Altitude Surging Problem - Members Wanted

Along a similar "food for thought" scenario , I "may" have stumbled onto (or at least close to) a fix. I recently installed a PowerCommander with its own "stock" fuel mapping. It helped some, but not quite all. I then further enrichened the map "area" in which the problem seemed most severe...
