    Spark Plug Boot question

The parts fisch shows their separate, part #5: https://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/2008/FJR1300A+-+FJR13AXCB/ELECTRICAL+1/parts.html They simply screw onto the wire (regular thread direction). There's a small screw that goes into the wire. While the cap is off, it wouldn't...

    Spencer's Seats @ www.greatdaytoride.com

I had my seat done by him years ago with the supra-core... He's straight across the state from me so turn around was even faster.. Looking at the seat, you can't tell its been touched but is considerably much more comfy and still looks stock.. I didn't have any mods (trimming, etc done), jut...

wiring accessories, tips tricks Battery tender, heated coax

I had my Powerlet on my 04 FJR (and current FZ6) outlet on the left side as I mounted and dismounted on the left side (while on the kick stand). If I'd forget to unplug my vest, it'll pull out W/O any damage to the bike controller etc.

    Stripped Oil Bolt

If you've ever tapped, especially soft aluminum, its very easy to start/ run your tap crooked. Even easier when you don't have a flat surface, to check from multiple angles that the tap is indeed straight.. IE, for my ES left side helmet lock brackets, I have one 6 mm threaded hole that...

    Stripped Oil Bolt

Doing a hei-coil or time sert repair, you should have enough aluminum there. After drilling, re-threading and inserting the STEEL thread insert, That drain plug will be considerably stronger than stock ( and use the stock bolt). I would pull the pan just so the bolt / threads are dead nuts...

    Stripped Oil Bolt

I have a Yamaha F150 HP, 4 banger outboard engine (4 stroke). Its uses the exact same size/threads drain bolt, aluminum block (everything the same as my FZ6 and my old 04 FJR. However, spec's call for 20 ft lbs, NOT 30. Its not securing anything, it just needs to seal and NOT come loose. *I...

    Stripped Oil Bolt

Simply get the correct sized COPPER oil drain washer at any auto parts store. Stop buying crush washers and guessing.. Torque to about 12 ft lbs, it isn't going anywhere..

Confirm size of bolt pictured please?

Honestly Art, I forgot who it was (been awhile) but W/O your help (heck, you designed 90% of it). there wouldn't be a left side ES bracket at all. It was a PIA only because I didn't have a bike in front of me and the back and forth prototypes thru the mail. Anyone with an ES, left side...

Confirm size of bolt pictured please?

Yes it is... When I and another member were designing the left side ES helmet lock bracket (back in 2014), the mounting hole, per his suggestion was smaller than for a 6mm bolt. I wanted to tighten up the spec's IF is was a 5mm. Anyone that bought a left side ES lock bracket some were...

Confirm size of bolt pictured please?

I believe the bolt the arrow is pointed to is a 6 MM width bolt (thread pitch is not-important). Can some please confirm it IS a 6MM bolt or is it a 5 MM bolt? (Left side ES model) Thanks ahead of time..

I suspect once the mechanic comes back, YOUR BIKE, will be first on the list.

    Torque loss after service.

On my old KLR, the two balancer shafts were timed to both marks on the sprockets and crank AND several LINKS were slightly a different color (and almost indistinguishable). Once the chain was scrubbed (so I could see the slight discoloration, I put just a small spot of white paint on both the...

    2014 Stumble on accel.

A similar TPS is used on the 04-09 FZ6. The 05 and 06 models had a re-call on the TPS, same as my old 2004 FJR did... It wouldn't surprise me their the same design. A slightly different part # often follows the different year bike..

    2014 Stumble on accel.

Sounds like the same problem on the Gen 1's. Mine had that connector turn green inside as well. Yamaha couldn't find it. Looking on this forum, the issue was posted and led me right to it....

    Torque loss after service.

Also, per your first post, NO VALVE ADJUSTMENT WAS NECESSARY... WTH?? Agreed, give them a chance to make it right or CONTEST THE CREDIT CARD CHARGE. They apparently didn't check them, or at the very least, didn't find and adjust the one. Question, did it appear ANYONE actually got to the...

    Swapping Stator Cover Problems

Actually, there's one or two 1/4" drive and the rest are 3/8" drive. As I re-call, my FZ (likely the same as the FJR) used the 1/4" driver torx. I have one kinda buggered up, I ground down some, till I can get back to Sears(that's if they have one in stock, usually not)
