    Yamaha Official Clutch Proclamation

Thank you for your reply, but you should not assume my attempt to get Yamaha's head out their ass was not preceded by a polite conversation with Xxxxx of "Customer Service". My point is we can continue to posts hundreds of complaints regarding the Clutch and Yamaha will do squat about it since...

    Yamaha Official Clutch Proclamation

xxxxx OF YAMAHA Headquarters (Cypress, California) who can be reached at (800) xxx-xxxx, ext#xxxx will be quick to deny the existence of any CLUTCH problems since "no FJR owners has contacted Yamaha to report any issues involving a Sticky Clutch." The OFFICIAL YAMAHA position is anyone having a...

    Slow Clutch

:o NO YAMAHA RECALL ON STICKY CLUTCH THOUGH YAMAHA IS AWARE OF UNIVERSAL PROBLEM (per Yamaha dealership in So-Cal who wants to charge $225 for a soaking). Talk about getting soaked. No longer fun riding the FJR when it stalls repeatedly at start up, at a light, stop signs, etc until it warms...

    Slow Clutch

You should be bummed; Shame on Yamaha continuing to bury their heads in the sand to this known ridiculous problem. It is disappointing that even with your 2012 FJR, Yamaha has not changed a damn thing to fix this problem. I was hoping that newer FJRs would have a better clutch design. I have...

    Ballistic Batteries

Anyone out there with a Ballistic Battery...what are your thoughts regarding performance? Two local Yamaha dealerships are pushing Ballistics over Shoria.

    Shoria vs Ballistic batteries

Ballistic vs Shoria 2nd Gen Batteries... any opinions or preferences? After reading a handful of Posts I went to my local Yamaha dealer to buy a Shoria Battery and the parts guy suggested getting a Ballistic Battery. Unfortunately he was out of stock on either brand, but stated the Ballistic...

    Rolling Stall

I have an 08 FJR with nearly 14K miles. Recently while riding up to a light that had just turned green allowing me to not have to stop, the bike nevertheless stalled after shifting from first to second as if the kill switch was activated. I Quickly engaged the clutch and turned the ignition...

    Monopoly on Motolights

Shopping around for auxiliary lighting now that I am doing a lot more night time winter commuting, and simply amazed at how pricey the motolights are. There certainly is the sense of price gauging. A BMW forum posting even went so far as to suggest Motolights holds a patent on the design...

Unusual wear pattern on front tire?

Have the same stock tires on my 08 with 10K miles. Looking to buy new front tire thou the rear looks like new. What tire mfg did you end up with? In the old days it seemed like the rear tires (Dunlops and Continental) were replaced at a two to one ratio at least with other bikes I have...

    Fault Code

The fault display window showed "0" when I still had half a tank of gas and the "0" suddenly appeared at the moment the odometer hit 10,000 miles. I am nearly on reserve and should be filling up this weekend. Will see what happens when I go on reserve to confirm whether the "F" will appear in...

    Fault Code

Thanks for your reply; I contacted my local dealer & Yamaha Headquarters (who just read from the owners manual) and said there is nothing abnormal with the "0" shown by itself in the speedo fault display window. Nothing was added to the bike since the cruise control last year and the bike starts...

    Fault Code

A couple of days ago I hit 10,000 miles on my 08 FJR and I notice a fault code "0" simultaneously appearing in the left lower corner of my speedo. A Google search revealed code translation for higher numbers for UK models. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Safe Riding

    Power Commanders on 08

Thanks for your insightful reply; having transitioned from my first Harley in 1974 to my eventual FJR in 2008 I thought I died and went to Heaven. I realize I am definitely "Old School" when it comes to simply getting the bike and taking it for a spin.

    Power Commanders on 08

Is it overkill having a Power Commander on the 2008 FJR when performance sure seems to be flawless? Have not found any convincing reason why any GENII FJR would need one.

    2008 FJR handlebar Vibration

Have the same issue with my 08; I added the Yamaha heated grips (for winter riding) which helped only a little. I also noticed less numbness with highway riding tilting the right wrist outward and loosening the grip on the throttle which as you know is quite sensitive.

    (split)

My brother is ignoring my advice to get the FJR and wants to get the Kawa concourse. How was the wind noise when hitting higher speeds on the Kawasaki?

    Scorpion i900

While perusing other sites I came across an entry that the Scorpion alarm i900 Perimeter sensor (on least sensitive setting) still drained his Yamaha R1 battery on a regular basis and he recommended a "battery tender". He also complained about the transceiver not working when it gets wet...

    Saddlebags removal

Thank you for the valuable info. It definitely is an alignment issue since when the bags are off the bike the handle lifts flawlessly. The question is what can be done to align the bags locking mechanism with the bikes frame?

    Saddlebags removal

Having an issue regarding removal of the saddlebags on my 08 FJR; when lifting the handle to remove the saddlebags (primarily on the right side) you have to force it, as if the upper bracket (on the bike's frame) is not aligned with the locking mechanism of the saddlebags. The bags do come off...
