    hand cramp.

When I first started riding mine, I had the same problem. My hand would cramp up and go to sleep. After a few hours of steady throttle, my wrist would eventually give out. I solved it by finding a pair of gloves that didnt fit too tight, using a wrist rester on long trips and I do rest curls...

Suffering from the worst case of seperation anxiety

28 days. My bike has been in the shop for 28 DAYS!! In another day or two, I'm gonna have to seek professional help. :(

Finally back on the road tomorrow

I feel your pain. On Oct. 1st, I got bit by the spider. The bike has been in the shop ever since. (I'm having a few other things done to it while its there and its not going smoothly at all) I dont expect to get the bike back until next week. :cray:

Who has gone camping on an FJR?

The problem I have is that after I pack the tent, cot, sleeping bag, bed roll, change of clothes, extra riding gear for the change of weather,I don't have room for keeping the beer on ice. :angry2:

    HELP STRANDED

I feel your pain. Mine has been dead for over a week. :( Everything works, the bike just won't fire. It's still in the shop and scheduled to have the "spider" ground recall fix tomorrow. Maybe that will solve the problem.

Thinking about selling my 2009. Would you?

I would sell it. You owe ALOT of money for something that is not being used.

    New top case for FJR1300

Wow...I like the looks of that better than my E52. First time I've seen or heard of the SHAD brand.

    What's in your saddle bag?

On afternoon jaunts in hot weather, I might carry a gallon of water. I hate loading the bike down with "stuff" I dont need. If its a full day or weekend ride, then I have a Givi E52 and tank bag to put items in that I have to have. (extra clothes, rain gear, clear visor, eye drops, ear plugs...

    First "long" ride.

An 07 with 13k miles is practically a new machine. I would be more concerned with conditioning yourself before the trip than the bike. Visit the ironbutt website. There, you will find ALOT of great advice from veteran long distance riders on proper human conditioning for long distance jaunts...

    Largest Luggage

What is the largest capacity luggae availible for the bike? - I dont know, but you can fit a 12 pack of coors lite in either saddle bag. Givi makes a few man sized trunks. Does having a top case destabilize the bike? - Destabilize isn't really the word I would use. The bike will seem a bit...

    Travel Observations

That was a good write up, very entertaining to read. There is something to be said about someone that can ride that long in those temperatures. Nice job. :clapping:

    Fitting Helmet into side cases

My Icon Domain helmet fits, but not well. Its like stuffing 10pds of crap in a 5pd bag.

Good suggestion, but it didn't work for me.

    ZUMO 550 Locked Up

Over the weekend, my Zumo locked up. I thought I'd share the short version of my experience. This past friday morning, I was packing the bike for a 420 mile jaunt. I installed the GPS cradle on the bike, then snapped the GPS unit on the cradle. While I was fastening down the annoying screw on...

    Another helmet ?

I've have a full faced, ICON Domain helmet. Its very light weight and has lots of vents. I won't wear anything less than a full faced helmet. If its supper hot out and I'm gonna be on the bike for a few hours, Ill put a gallon water jug in the side bag.

    Maintenace Help

My experience with the air filter: I pulled mine out for the first time this past spring. (filter had 34,000 miles on it) It was in good enough shape that I just blew it out with compressed air and re installed it. I dont plan on checking it again for another 30,000 miles and I will probobly...

    Got My Antlers

I dont have enough ice in my veins for lane sharing. :D I'm 6ft, 190lbs and I really don't have a huge issue with the OEM mirrors enough to modify/replace them. Bringing in my elbows and shuffling in the seat to see behind me is all part of the experience. :)

    mpg question

I personally have never gotten anything below 41 mpg per tank. Cruising at 65-70mph with no head wind, Ill get 47-49 mpg. If a strong head wind or cross wind comes into play, Ill be looking at 42 mpg. 90% of my shifts are at or before 3,000 rpms. 40 mpg on pure city miles is a safe bet.
