Jeep owners wave - not as completely as motorcycles but still a large percentage.
By "Jeep", I mean CJ's and Wranglers, not Cherokees, Grand Cherokees, Libertys, etc. Those are the scooters of the Jeep world.
Ha, my FJR took first place in the Metric Touring Bike Category at the 2007 Federalsburg Bike show in Federalsburg, MD.
You know, I was the only one in the category, but still.
I was there - got in Friday night and came back home yesterday morning. You on a red 06/07? I had someone on an FJR pull out behind my dad and I on York Road Sat. night, but traffic was insane, so no time to really look around or try and chat.
I waved when I remembered it @ bike week, but...
My department got 11 of them with the V6. They suck total balls, except that the unmarked/slick tops are traffic killers.
Some of the local PD's around here got the (correct) Hemi package, and swear they will not be going back to Crown Vics.
I have that same Nelson Rigg bag on my FJR:
I just picked up another one for my dad for father's day from New Enough - I think it was between $35 and $40
In the great state of Delaware there's a lot of value (and status) assigned to 'low number' plates (our plates are all numeric, no letters). Anything 4 digit and below is generally valuable - a 3-digit straight number tag (not a M/C tag or a C (commercial) PC (pleasure/commercial) etc.) can...
Wish I had seen this sooner - that run from Lewes down to Assateague a few days ago put you right in my back yard - I would have met up and spun a few miles with you, and likely bored the hell out of you with Delmarva coast history and trivia.
I had mine a few weeks ago - I had been to my dad's, and when I got home I managed to leave the key on. Came back out about 2 hours later to a dead bike.
Luckily my driveway is paved and sloped, so I was able to hop start it after only 2 tries.
We used to use Toughbooks in our patrol cars, as far back as the CF-25 and CF-27 series. At any given time, about 10% of our units were down, mostly hard drive or screen problems. We had techs from Japan come out once to replace the screen hinges in all of our laptops.
About 5 years ago we...
I have 2 AE1s and an A1 that I still use for taking film pictures when the mood to be artsy strikes. For day to day picture snapping, I have a Nikon CoolPix 4500, and today my new Nikon CoolPix S10 arrives. You can't beat Nikon for optics.
I've still not moved to a digital SLR - can't justify...
Alex, how hard are these to get off? I have a set of plain ones that I got back when I first got my bike - hell I mounted them before I ever rode the thing, but I like the graphics.
I have the Comagination unit on my '05, run it all the time unless I'm in a group ride or traffic, and also wouldn't ride without it. The first time you realize that someone didn't make that left because they saw you, the device has paid for itself.
The install is trivial (at least for the...
Dude - you don't ride bikes like that. I saw one (again, maybe that one) at the Mid-Atlantic bike show - it certainly looks 'neat', but not anything I'd like.
I'm totally more Pimpstar style
When I first took the MSF in Delaware some 8-10 years ago they explained counter-steering in detail, and then we had to go out on the range and practice. I made it with no problem, since what they had explained just 'made sense'.
I took the class with my father-in-law and he just did not get...
