How come Cruisers are so much more popular than ST's?

It's all about style. If I could afford a third bike, I'd own a cruiser. Would you rather ride or bench race? Do you gear up, or want to ride bare headed. Do you want the security of group association, or are you comfortable with your own identity. Because that's where it's at. OK, I...

Bridgestone BT021 review & eventual results

Great review - much appreciated - there is so much mis-information out there about tires, it's good to read a factual review. After 2 sets of 020s and 1 set of 021s, I decided to try Z6s. Actually putting a Z6 on the rear on tomorrow. Hope I am not making a change I will regret. Glad to see...

    Engine Paint

I would not buy ColorRite paint (again). Check the Bin-O-Facts for paint. I don't know if the "07 paint is the same color as the '06 paint. What I do know is that the paint I bought from ColorRite didn't match on a spray-out test. The follow-up call with ColorRite tech services wasn't...

Oil filter wrench for my FJR?

+1, I use channel locks, after all, who needs a used used oil filter in good condition, hand-tighten the new filter, there's just enough room to slip it inside the mounting plate.

    Changing the final drive oil

Is it a good idea to use a crush washer on the filler plug?

    Wear Gear, Buy Frame Sliders!!!

How about an update. Your name comes up every time we drive around Green Lane. What's the status on bike repairs?

Multiple GPS units on a bike - whuts up wit dat?

Makes sense, for the guy that has everything.

    Another Priceless Joke

As he was "flying" down the road yesterday, a guy passed over a bridge only to find a cop with a radar gun on the othim side lying in wait. The cop pulled him over, walked up to the car, with that classic patronizing smirk we all know and love, asked, "What's your hurry?" To which he replied...

Out of state Performance Awards (Speeding Ticket)

Thanks for posting this up. My own previous search was unable to find info on PA's DLC reciprocity laws, but there is a link right on the Wikpedia page to the PennDOT reference. Funny how I couldn't find it searching the PennDOT page, probably because I wasn't using the official title for the...

    EOM-08

Hey Jeff - - If you are leading, I'll follow wherever - - I was still dryer after we crossed that creek than I was after riding in the rain the day before - - seriously though: I was very happy with Lewisburg. I'd return there, and I hope to be able to attend EOM 8 wherever it is. Every good...

New motivational poster for 2008 EOM routes

Yea, but you don't have to worry about pit marks from gravel hitting your cowling, either. :clapping: :yahoo: :yahoo: :clapping: And how else can you find good moonshine...

When does a tank slapper become a head slapper?

Was it a RT 350? I learned to ride on DT 360. Tank slapper happens when front end gets light and takes a different line than the rear. Can't really explain it well. Could happen under a variety of conditions. Don't think the geometry on the FJR is highly susceptible, that's why you don't...

When does a tank slapper become a head slapper?

Agreed. I sometimes start thinking about the same things. That's when I realize I am not going fast enough. I think a head slapper is what happens to the guy with the ape-hangers after he leaves the bar.

    Brief discussion of cornering technique

I was trying to block some of that out. More seriously, Jeff, what I saw from my perspective was a couple of FJRs riding staggered close-up sweeping into a single file arc through a corner behind you and then closing up again and repeating it all over. I was talking to myself that day, I kept...

    Brief discussion of cornering technique

Somehow, this discussion doesn't mesh with the mental image I have of last Saturday at EOM. Do what works. On the street you worry about unknowns, gravel, potholes, etc. Did you ever consider that you might subconciously be adjusting mid-corner, just in case you need to change your exit line...

When does a tank slapper become a head slapper?

If you have time to think about things like this, you are not going fast enough.

Do people ask you what your bike is??

We had just stopped for breakfast one morning. I could still hear the wind blowing in my ears. A guy walks up and says to my wife, "That's a real nice lookin bike you got there. What kind is it?" She looks at him dead straight and says "A blue one." I use that answer all the time now.

    What Non-attendees Missed

I can’t complain about gravel in the corners. Heck, it was whole lot better than the sand and the mud on that cowpath they called county road 31 or whatever it was. Seems a shame, though, I missed the cultural enrichment program cause I was out riding.

    What Non-attendees Missed

...and here I thought it got scattered on the road when they weaved off on the shoulder after crossing the center line. So that's what those coal shovels in the back of the pick-ups are for. I'd rather ride in WV than in NC, there is less gravel in WV than NC, and I thought it was smaller, I...
