Try raising the idle to 2000 with the throttle before you go to the trouble of getting to the screw. I tried that the other day and it ran like crap! Much worse than the normal 1500 fast idle.

That's the reason I went with option 2 as well. I didn't feel like a plate bolted through the stock rack would transfer the weight to the frame as evenly as the Givi rack does. Mine is extremely strong and solid, although I admit it doesn't look as good as the Premier rack.

Same here but mine does it at 1500 rpm during the cold start fast idle but doesn't do it when started after its warmed up.
