    Former XS1100 Owners?

I have owned two, 79 Special, and a 78. The 78 was a custom maroon/black paint job and had a silver racing strip on the top of the tank and the top of the bags. If Yamaha did a remake of this bike I would buy one in an instant.

    Steeringhead bearings.

I don't want to derail the thread, and it is your bike and I am sure you know more about it than I do, but I doubt your shimmy has anything to do with your steering head bearings. I have seen guys throw parts at tire wear problems (shimmy) for years. I have noticed that I will get a wobble in...

    Shifting Hard Shifting 2nd --> 1st

I broke the 1st 2nd shift fork in my old XS-11. One of the symptoms long before the fork broke was a difficult 2 - 1 down shift. It also popped out of 2nd gear into a false neutral, and it would pop in and out of 2nd under hard acceleration. I rode it for years just skipping 2nd gear entirely. I...

I have decided to purchase a new shock for a Gen 3. I do appreciate the few that responded. Admin is welcome to delete this thread.

Closed - WTB OEM Rear Shock - Buying New

I do not want to hurt anyone's feelings, okay maybe I don't care about feelings. If you are brand new, like 0 posts and have no history on the forum, I am unlikely to send you any money. That being said, if you are a forum member and have a low mileage shock I am interested. I have nearly made...

Closed - WTB OEM Rear Shock - Buying New

I am hoping one of you guys upgraded and don't need your rear shock. The shock on my 2010 is leaking and I have to replace it.

    Torque rod bolt failure

Glad they are taking care of you.

Rear Wheel not spinning when in main stand with engine turned on

Ride your bike and worry less. You are fine.

    Torque rod bolt failure

I think the brake hose would hold the caliper for at lease a few stops before it came apart.

    Airhawk or gel?

A Russel seat is not going to make you think oh this sure feels nice. The great think about the Russel seat is that after a 500 mile day you and your spouse are not thinking about how sore your butt is.

What a great ffing day - not

John, the next time you wake up and think you should just roll over and go back to sleep, listen!

    Cylinder 4 Injector coupler?

If nothing else call the bike scrap yard that sells the FJR engines on ebay and have them cut you an injector connector out. I can not imagine they will charge you more than a few dollars.

    Pirates Lair Stealth Backrest ?

I picked one up used because the wife said she was not comfortable not having one back there. She loves it. It is easy to install and remove and looks nice.

    engine removal

I would not go through this for an oil leak but it is your bike and your money. Maybe this will help. https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php/topic/154721-winter-project-reviving-a-wounded-fjr/page-3?hl=+engine%20+removal You are going to need a service manual for torque specs, lube...

    started but woulbn't throttle up

Check the air filter while you are in there. If it is "really" plugged up (or damp) it would idle great but stumble under load. Maybe run great coming down the hill but have trouble going up. Just something to look at.

FJR sat for year and a half

Dude, it started. Ride the piss out of it.

    2015 Masters

I would love to see Phill, Tiger, or Freddie have a run. Matt would be nice to see win as well. It does not look like that is going to happen. Jordan has a great lead and looks to keep it. If he can hold it together he will win.

    FJR vs M109 Susuki

She gets the front wheel off the ground pretty easily. Remember that the starting spot on a drag stip is real sticky. Scared the hell out of me the first time I launched the big girl.

Fixed a bunch of complaints about my FJR.

They are very nice bikes. Love the Traction control on the new ones. The 2013 I rode was not as comfortable to me as the FJR, but it was nice. Having my knees up higher is a problem for me. I hope you enjoy your new bike.
