    Battery position

Low centralization of weight is one key to great handling. R1 has battery under seat. R1 has no hot battery issues. R1 handles like race bike. Would rather have another storage compartment in place of the current FJR battery location.

    Progressive Rate Reduction

Called my agent and had the change completed in 5 minutes. Logged into Progressive site and saw the change and refund amount. Thanks!

    2006 - Wilbers Group Buy

My Wilbers is in the pipeline - THANKS WC. Also ordered a set for my old BMW since Klaus had a Beemer group buy in progress that also ended today. When does the Wilbers R1 group buy start?

    Geelong - Import to USA?

Assessing and paying duty: www.customs.gov "Most personal shipments worth up to $200, and gift packages worth up to $100, will pass duty free as long as the recipient does not receive multiple packages in a single day whose cumulative value is more than these amounts."

    What happened to Wilber???

I'm hoping the Wilbers GB will still happen. I missed the last one (purchased my bike last summer). From all the good feedback from owners, it would be nice to get one (and some fork springs) at a GB discount. Mid winter is probably a great time to make a deal since the Wilbers factory is...

    The Rear View Helmet

Here's a link to a write-up: https://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/reevu/ Hey, just think, you can watch your passenger curse you out while you do wheelies.

    Super Brace

The Superbrace looks like a good upgrade for the front suspension. Like others have posted, I can feel the front end wobble when just pushing the bike over small bumps. With the upside down type forks that Yamie has on the sport models, the forks are much more rigid and don't require a brace...

    FJR Sightings Near Cincinnati

I wasn't impressed with Southside. I purchased my '05 at Joe's Cycle, also in Dayton. This is a small old time (over 40 years) friendly Mom and Pop operation that only sells Yamaha and Triumph. Got a decent price without haggling. The service dept (two brothers) appeared very bike savvy when...

    VFR vs FJR riding impressions.......

VFRMike Cleaning the older model R1 chain is not too bad since most of the bottom links between the sprockets are exposed and easy to access. The large swingarm on the VFR looks like it blocks most of the area near the chain. As you said, it becomes routine after a while but still a headache.

    Wilbers 643 installation

I am thinking about getting the Wilbers 643 shock when the group buy gets going. This is the model with the piggyback compression damping adjustment reservoir (fits only on the non-ABS FJR). I believe some were purchased on the last group buy. Any feedback on installation problems or other...

    VFR vs FJR riding impressions.......

It's sitting in my house gathering dust. I tried to attach a photo but it looks like I do not have that posting option.

    VFR vs FJR riding impressions.......

Anything with a chain is a PITA. No thanks, I'd rather be riding then messing with kerosene and chain lube every 600 miles.

    Wilbers Shock?

I've got to have one. The OEM shock is killing my back. Thanks WC!!!

FJR poor choice of 2-up city riding?

I recently tested a BMW Rockster. Low cg, wet weight of 527 lbs., comfy seat, and great low speed handling. And most dealers will let you test ride one (try that at your Yamie dealer). I would not recommed the FJR for city driving.

    Pic's Of The New FJR

I hope the 06 revised throttle cable pulley will retrofit. That would be a big improvement.

    Pic's Of The New FJR

Is it my imagination or are the cans more compact on the new bike? If so, wonder if they will retrofit?

    2006 FJR1300AE

I would like to wish the best of luck to all the beta testers of the new e-shift bikes. After all, it has only taken Yamaha, what, 3 years to address (hopefully) the ticking problem (problem?....what problem?). How many years have we had the simple technology of ohv engines in mass production...

    2006 FJR1300AE

Not really interested in the e-shift gizmo. I remember when most cars only came with a manual tranny. Nowadays 90% of cars only come with an auto. I guess it's the trend I don't feel comfortable with. I would hate to see some future bikes only coming with an e-shift. As far as the extra...

    2006 FJR1300AE

The current FJR is already too heavy. Less weight = more fun and reduced operating costs.
