    Front stands

A few years ago, I bought one of these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1100-LB-MOTORCYCLE-DIRT-BIKE-ATV-SCISSOR-MINI-JACK-LIFT-STAND-CENTER-FLOOR-NEW-/140750924233?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item20c568a9c9&vxp=mtr#ht_2958wt_1116 Works good on all my bikes except my Ducati Monster. I just used...

Poll: Average age of an FJR rider

"...Yeah. All the votes up until now are three years off. 'Cept all us over 60s." Yep, when I voted, the overall average age jumped a couple of years.... :wackosmiley:

    Burned by Shinko Tires

Well, I just mounted one of those "sh!tty" Shinkos on the rear of my BMW ($19k+). Paired it with a new PR2 in the front. Took it out for a 250 mile break-in run. No surprises. Handles as good as with the prior Z6's. So far, so good... However, the set of OEM Z6's I removed taught me one thing...

FJR or RT, Used Bike Prices

I'm fortunate enough to currently have both an FJR (08/A) and an R1200RT (09). They both make me grin. Both have been cross-country and I wouldn't hesitate to take either again. Both are keepers. :yahoo: That said, since I got the RT, it has been accumulating miles at about twice the rate as...

What makes the high pitched mechanical whine?

Fear not.... It sporadically happens on all of my bikes.... when I've had a big bowl of ham & beans the night before. I consider this phenomena to be completely normal.. :stinker:

    FJR / BMW Indecision

+1 on what he said... I've got a 08 FJR and an 09 R1200RT. Both are fun to ride. However, IMO, the Beemer is easier to ride mostly due to significantly (and very noticeable) less weight and lower CG....Very light handling (comparatively). The FJR is great choice (for me) when some adrenaline...

Tell me why an FJR please.....

Like you, I had a 94 R1100RS that I bought new in 93. Overall, great bike. :) Only complaints were a weak starting when cold and transmission chatter at idle in neutral (especially when warm). Traded it off 1-1/2 years ago on another Beemer. At times, I kinda miss the old girl... :dribble:

    corbin?

I've had several (4-5) Corbins over the years. Only 1 didn't work really well for me and that one was a definite improvement over the stock seat it replaced. My butt must be something like 80% Corbin; 20% Other....

Putting off the first service to 1200 miles

....or do like I when I picked up my FJR at D&H. I picked it up before noon and scheduled the 600 mile service for 2 days later. I brought it back with ~850 miles on the clock and Nick did the service which took about three hours (because of all my questions -- my first FJR). Very reasonably...

    CORBIN

Over the years, I've purchased 4 Corbins. No problems. Still using 2 of them on my FJR and a 94 Ducati Monster.

    FJR service tools

I bought a Handy about 20 years ago. Got a good deal and also purchased the snowmobile wings and ATV extensions. Its about the best shop investment I've ever made (well, maybe the frig would rank right up there too). :good: I would rate it at about a 9+ (out of 10). MUCH easier working on...
