    Audiovox CC 100 in Rain

$83 was the best price i could find. i siliconed the back of the pad like a lot of others and have ridden in a lot of rain with no problems so far. i did leave a hole that is partially protected in the bottom so that anything that got in would flow out the low side. i cut almost all the wires...

    T-REX Frame Sliders?

mine have been drop tested on both sides with no problems. as you can see in that other post i modded them a little to make them fit better and not excessively pre-stress them.

    Stall

as stated before mine did this when new. keep the idle at 1100 and it will do it less and less then at about 1000 miles on mine it just went away. you could always throw a lot of money at it but many people have had good results just letting the bike break in and keeping it well tuned.

    Ran out of gas

it will sputter on for about 4 or 5 miles then die at 65.2 on my 08. this is just a guess though. no actual experience. i will say that there is no cell phone coverage or much traffic on I64 at the border of Va/WVa real late on a sunday night.

    FJR for two up

I know I'm just piling on but I'm bored. have had 2 wings a couple BMW's, 2FJs 1FZ etc, etc. wife says the best riding was 78 gl1000 wing. worst was 600 radian. she loves the FJR and has fallen asleep on the back. but it does have its limits, she thinks a more goldwing like seat will help. that...

    audiovox cruise

even if you don't run vacuum from all of them at least put short lengths of hose on them. in my pics you can see where i have about a 9" piece on every port just to make TBS easier. i can't claim the idea but after dropping enough shit down into that black hole on a bunch of bikes. i can't think...

Jason my vacuum comes off the #2 throttle body where you attach to do sync. the hose runs aft along the wire harness on the left side. if you look in the last photo you can see it at the very top of the wire harness that goes to the ecm.

not just cars don't have dual cables a lot of motorcycles don't have them. my nighthawk 750 has had the cable broken for over 10 years. if anyone has any actual negative experience with this i would be glad to hear it.

    audiovox cruise

i have a block of aluminum that i plan to make a mount similar to the skyway mount out of. it gives me a reason to play with my tools. now i have it mounted on a piece of sheet metal right above the windshield switch and i really like it there. the mount just looks cheesy i slapped it out quick...

    audiovox cruise

i didn't use a reservoir. i tested it in some very hilly riding going to EOM and i had no problems. if i ever do i will make a small round one and install it under the front of the servo where the tool kit used to be. as for the throttle piece do you mean the standoff that holds the cable...

radman, was that thing a bitch to get off or what. when i took it off i prayed it would work so that i didn't have to remove all the throttle bodies to put it back.

    Clutch damper spring upside down

chris, thanks for the info. whenever i had seen clutch's installed without soaking it burned the fibers causing the clutch to slip and forcing replacement. i learned something today so it was not wasted.

    cush drive

i used a hand hammer type impact screwdriver not that it would have mattered the locktite they used was an industrial red which means permanent, only heat to remove on a screw that small.

    cush drive

if the screws still had heads you should be able to use heat from a small headed torch to heat the heads until you could warm the whole screw. if that didn't work you would have to heat the boss destroying the paint. that wouldn't hurt the rubbers in my opinion.

    Clutch damper spring upside down

I would be interested too. My bike I'm sure needs the plates soaked too, because every time I start it (with the clutch pulled in) it jumps forward a bit. I have almost 20K miles on it and it's not getting worse, however it's not getting better either. When I get the valves adjusted at 24K I...

    audiovox cruise

just a few pictures of my install i did a few things different from other installs i had seen. i removed all unused wires and shortened all wires by cutting and soldering and heat shrinking to keep the rats nests out. i installed the servo in the middle of the tray to keep the cable as straight...

    cush drive

Canadian FJR asked about movement of the hub in the rim and i tore my wheel off to verify that it would move around. being ignorant and having to much time on my hands i decided to remove the hub from the rim just to see what was in there. it is only held in by three small screws on the black...

    Rev Limiter on the FJR

as close as i can tell ( i had a lot going on at the time) 9300-9500 on my 08. comes down from a wheelie really fast when it hits.

Is oil build up at final drive/motor normal?

when i pulled my back tire off to answer the question from Canadian FJR i also took off the peg and side cover and all to plastic around the u joint. Yamaha has apparently addressed the lack of lube problems because there was about a half oz. of grease flung all around that area. after the EOM...

Removal of side cases... 06 A

just make sure when you put the bag on that the slit at the front bottom of the bag goes over the mount on the frame, and that the rubber is still on the frame mount tab.
