    Michelin Pilot Road 4's

Currently running PR2; buzzy front tire from day one (has gotten worse as it has worn, currently 13,000 miles with plenty of tread left; yes, I'm easy on tires). Probably going to go with the PR4 when it is time (though some of the responses have me wondering, a little, about the T-30's).

    Screwing up a coolant change

My take (guess) too. You now seem good to go.

Is there any solution for leg roasting heat on an 08?

An '04 here, and in S.C., so you have to add 90plus humidity to that 90plus temperature; jeans with mesh riding pants (for me). Hell yeah it's hot but try to not hug the sides of my legs with the side of the bike (helps a little).

    2015 FJR1300 real-world engine/trans "break-in" question:

I would check the airbox and the air filter first (or exhaust restriction). Don't the newer models (I have an '04) have electronic throttle; maybe check to see if it is opening (all the way).

    Front brake issue

I think you have glazed rotor/pads; usually a couple of aggressive stops can remove some of the glaze. If not, you may have to disassemble and remove glazing with some sandpaper.

2016 Is Official 6-spd, Slipper, LEDs, Analog Tach, Price

My review of the current (5 speed) transmission is that the first three gear ratios seem darn near perfect. When shifting to fourth it seems to be a little higher than optimal (but certainly acceptable); I think that with the new six speed that if fourth is made a tad closer to third and a...

Unless it is damaged, use the old one.

    Toyota truck frame recall

America still builds the best trucks (IMO), Tundra is catching up (but still sub-par in my eval.), Titan is trying again (and only time will tell but I don't see any revelations). My statements are, as a whole, not individual pros and cons; every make/model can be the best or worst vehicle...

2016 Is Official 6-spd, Slipper, LEDs, Analog Tach, Price

No matter what Yamaha does someone's gonna ***** about this or that; IMO Yamaha did real good in the new model. I'm probably too old to buy another new bike (my '04 is still a baby at 34,000 miles) but if I were in the market for a new model this would be on the top of the list.

    E15 is here next year

I don't have a problem with E-15 as long as it is an additional pump at the station. I've used E-10, and even with the addition of Stabil, have had problems with my small engined devices so in that vain maybe I do have a problem.

    New Motobatt on the way

Mine has been in-service since May'13. So far it has been the equal to the original battery and better than the two Westco's I replaced the original with. Good starting performance, and so far, no slow cranking when hot (in summer) after a gas stop, which seemed to happen a lot with the Westco's.

    New Motobatt on the way

I've had the best luck with replacement batteries for my '04 FJR with the A/C Delco (...

Best glue for gluing plastic to metal?

I had similar experiences with shortened fork protectors, fortunately for me I had some metal stock (stainless steel sheet) that I extended the protectors with; these I glued with JB Weld. This was many years ago and never a problem. Depending on the type of plastic JB Weld might just do the...

    Fuel Filter

If the tanker truck is on-site, I pass by that station. But I do like to get gas at stations that stay busy and have the freshest fuel.

Old Guys Rule! Wheatie and mcatrophy approved joke!

Gee beemerdons you can call me Chuck; east coast yeah, grandfathers from Italy, France and Germany (before the wars :) ) Wife's from England (part anyway); that must be it. :D I'll stick to my eval though. lol

Old Guys Rule! Wheatie and mcatrophy approved joke!

Pretty good, but in sentence two, Doctor Young (if he had been successful, which he wasn't) would only be making a quick $500; moot point I know, but if he got back a thou, the treatment was still 500.

Cleaning melted goo off chrome pipes

I've used Mr.Clean's Magic Eraser; you've got to rub, but it works, and after-all, it is an eraser.

600 Mile Initial Service Screw Up

Honest mistake, honest dealer; if they fix it (to your standards; new in this case) other than your time/heartache, probably the best you could hope for.
