Seafoam is light oil (similar to diesel fuel), alcohol (isopropanol, I believe) and naphtha (probably the carbon dissolving portion of the mix); it might help. I don't know what Ring free is made of though and either could be a first step to try.

I seem to remember some reports of 'soft' paint with the Gen 1's when first out of the factory, but as others have said, probably road induced, and just the product of road debris.

I think you may have identified the problem, since I'm assuming this degradation started after the valve check (valve chain skipped a tooth). If this is not the case I think my next check would be a compression test. Others with significantly more knowledge are sure to chime in; good luck.

The latest Popular Mechanics just had a story of 3D Lithium architecture battery (on the horizon; don't know how far) with five times the power density. Now that would be a 'game-changer' (very quick re-charge rate also).

As alluded above; after fuel-up, the odo count-up will disappear and the correct odo and trip meter miles will come back.

My A/C Delco is also performing (very) well (I guess it is coming up on a year). While (maybe) too early to tell, I believe I'm getting more service from the Delco than from the Westco (it replaced). So far the A/C Delco deal was just that, a good deal.

I would check the steering head bearing and also check for wheel run-out (hit any large potholes that might have bent the rim slightly). Also, as above, check for a completely seated tire and/or tire run-out (which can also occur).
