    Ignition fix

Received mine the other day. I agree with the other posts; nice quality piece. Brodie let me know when you want me to send payment for the second one for my friend's FJR. Thanks again for doing this for all of us on the forum. Chris

    FJR Cover...

Tour King in Texas makes a great cover (it's actually listed as the ST1300 cover) works great with my Givi top box when I travel. It's a half cover, which is all you really need for overnight at the hotel. It keeps prying eyes away, and protects from rain, pine needles and dirt. And best of...

    Convince Me

Having owned an '05 FJR since it was new, I spent time riding a C14 and an '08 FJR when I was shopping for a new bike. I am short, with a 29 inch inseam and did notice the Kawi was taller. But one thing the MCN comparison test pointed out was the higher center of gravity on the C14. If you're...

Brodie, I just got off the phone with my friend Mike. He definitely wants one, so please put my name on the list for the next batch. Thanks, Chris.

Sport Rider Editor in a serious crash

Very disappointing update from the Busa forum. I saw a story on the news about a 35 year old swimmer that became a parapalegic from a diving accident. The doctors said she would never walk again. They showed footage of her walking and saying she will swim and run again. Pure determination...

    Ignition fix

Paypal sent this morning. Thanks again, and I may be ordering another for my friend's '06.

    Heated Yamaha Grips

The Yamaha grips are worth every penny. They are much more sophisticated than the average heated grip as they adjust for temperature change and turn off when voltage dips too low. One of my winter projects is installing them on my '08. I'm still riding the '05 because that already has the...

    Koubalinks

It doesn't take much lift to the rear wheel higher to make centerstand effort manageable. Yes, one can muscle it onto the centerstand with a Kouba link and forks raised in the triple clamp, but the effort is reduced close to stock with a 1/2'' piece of plywood. The thin piece of plywood is...

    "Therapy" Ride

Nice job of putting it into words. I've told people for years that riding is my two wheeled therapy.

How did you learn to ride?

September 1972 my dad bought me a new CT70H as my 14th birthday present for maintaining high grades in school. He set me loose on a dirt parking lot connected to some trails and I got the clutch/throttle thing down in no time. I put 3600 miles on that bike from Sept '72 to July '73 when I...

    Tail Light flasher

Gunny on Jack's TIR3. I've tried everything back there on multiple bikes, and this blows them all away. Makes Hyperlites look like running lights by comparison.

All '08 Owners Out There! I Need '08 Windshield Advise!

1000 miles on my'08 and it seems as scratch resistant as my '05 FJR. My '06 FZ1 windshield scratches very easily, but the Novus plastic polishing system has helped a lot.

    Concealed radar/laser detector

My research showed that unless the paint has a high metallic content it shouldn't pose a problem.

    05-07 Clutch Slave Cylinder swap

Excellent idea Chris! I'll add this to the winter farkle/modification list. Thanks, Chris.

Old Oil - How long is it still usable?

Thanks for the interesting info. Do you have a reference to the shelf life of grease and is there a difference for synthetic?

    Concealed radar/laser detector

Laser scrambling or "shifting" as it's more commonly refered to DOES exist and is a fairly reliable tool unlike radar scrambling. Check out the SRX system by Escort/Passport and the Radar Roy sites for reviews and explanations.

    05-07 Clutch Slave Cylinder swap

I was interested in swapping the slave cylinder out not to reduce the effort rquired but to get the engagement point further out from the bar. Posters in the linked thread have mentioned the swap didn't accomplish this. I have an '05 FJR and an '08 and I like the engagement point on the '05...
