    Bosch 3323 oil filter

    MotoGP at COTA

I drive a courtesy golf cart at the track for events, and will be out there again this year, operating out of the med center. Your parking pass will have a lot assignment on it, and I know there are certain sections assigned to bikes, and there are also sections set aside for specific brands...

May 1st through May 9th ride throughout the Texas Hill country

I'm also 54, and we share a name; your first, my last. If I'm still employment challenged when you come down, I'll ride with you and show you around. I've been in Austin for 12 years, and am pretty familiar with the roads. You should pick up a copy of the latest Ride Texas, (with Dale Watson on...

May 1st through May 9th ride throughout the Texas Hill country

Please don't. We're full. Traffic is horrendous on a good day, with no fixes in sight.

    Honda Goldwing F6B

I've been thinking about an F6B since the first time I threw a leg over one at the inaugural MotoGP here in Austin. I'd probably have one, if not for: No room in the garage for two bikes. Resale on my '07 FJR is abysmal, for what I have in it. Oh, well.

Update: It is not unlawful to carry a passenger on an FJR in Texas

This is now law in Texas, but it's not being enforced widely. In any case, FJRs are fine. https://www.russbrown.com/motorcycle-lawyer-blog/9924/malories-law-in-texas-causes-confusion-for-thousands-of-motorcyclists-part-ii.html

    Trailer tie down points

You must not like your paint. Tie it up below, as wind will start bouncing the strap off the fairing. Here is how I strap mine down on the Kendon. Not in the picture, but I've added U bolts to the trailer frame in front, to keep those straps in place.

    WTB: Zumo 550

Yeah, I have to admit I was surprised, Fred. And it was only 5 months ago, so they must have just made the change in their policy. The fix for mine would have been pretty easy; just replacing that rubber like skin, but I couldn't find a place to buy the skin.

    Best slip-on exhaust to buy?

That's what I'd get, if not for the springs. How can Mama Yama build an exhaust with no straps/springs, but others can't?

    Valentine radar detector opinions?

<----- Used my V1 a lot when I had this, and it worked very well. Don't like all that crap on my bike, so never did install it.

    WTB: Zumo 550

Interesting. The upper left button on mine came off last September, and Garmin sent me a newly refurbished one, with the only cost to me being the shipping to them. I was impressed, to say the least.

Sell fully farkled, or reduce price and sell stock?

I listed my VTX 1300 at two prices. Price A was as is, Price B was with the Boss Bags, Mustang Seat, and Honda backrest and luggage rack pulled off. The guy bought it at Price A. Did he try to get the fully farkled bike at Price B? Of course, but in the end, he saw that he was getting a great...

Interviewing Strategy - beginning, middle or end?

I know that only too well, have been fooled in the past, have slacked off, and what was a sure thing has evaporated. I tell people now that to keep throwing lines in the water, and to never stop until not only is the fish in the boat, it has been cleaned, breaded, cooked over a roaring campfire...

Interviewing Strategy - beginning, middle or end?

I've been OOW since 7/2, for the second extended period in the last two years. I actually get a lot of traffic on my job inquiries/resume, phone and in person interviews, but I can tell you it's a strange hiring environment out there. One of the companies in play right now is a company that I...

Interviewing Strategy - beginning, middle or end?

No, please don't. We are full... No offense, but the traffic in Austin would need to vastly improve, just to not totally suck.

Musings of an aging FJR rider

46 then, 54 now. Probably somewhere in the demo, but without some of the baggage, (see license plate). Here's a pic of my 40. No salt in Central Texas, obviously, and with an Aqualu (aluminum) 3/4 tub and front fenders, it wouldn't be a huge issue. Of course, it was a frame off restore in 2000...

Musings of an aging FJR rider

Thanks, Fred. It was 8 years ago, but I have managed to refrain from the gold chains and fake tan. I actually sold the car about 5 years ago; it was fun, but I scratched the itch and replaced it with a 1977 Toyota LandCruiser.
