    GPS/Computer users

This summer I rode the FJR on a 2 1/2 week, 6,000 mile trip. I carried my 8-pound Dell laptop with the 15" screen in the Givi 52L. topcase. But it took up a significant portion of the topcase--space I could have used to carry other stuff. Since then, primarily for traveling on the bike and by...

    SPOT Satellite Personal Tracker

Taff- That does not sound good, the lack of tracking. How long did you have the unit in track mode? Three locations in what amount of time? And, when you go to the web site to view the track, does it display a map with the tracking locations?

    Don't Shoot The Messenger

I am also doing the planning for a large conference next September in Wyoming. We have had a signed contract with the hotel for well over a year, but due to problems with the hotel management beyond our control, we will have to change the dates. It's a huge ***-pain, but these things happen...

How come Cruisers are so much more popular than ST's?

Someone once said: "If you see my bike on a trailer..... call 911!".

    (Raven) Black fully-faired 2008 FJR

Even if a person was obsessed with keeping a 2008 FJR spotless, there's just not a great deal of black surface area to clean. So... it might take 10 minutes... big deal. But if it were me, I'd clean my big *** CalSci windscreen daily, and the rest of the bike every now and then. It's more fun...

    Which year FJR is best?

Of course, as everyone knows, the BLUE FJR is the fastest! :P

    Andrew Knight Symbology

We have a lot of sunny days here in the Black Hills of South Dakota. It can get a little nipply here in the winter, but the blue skys can extend the riding season a bit.

    SPOT Satellite Personal Tracker

Taff- Thanks for the info. I've been thinking about getting one of these. I know the instructions say it needs a clear view of the sky, but I know some GPS receivers will work even when the antenna is hidden down inside the FJR's farings. I wonder if the Spot unit would work inside a tank bag?

    NAFO Dates Set!

But, the big question is, does anybody know WHEN NAFO is ? ;)

    Horses Riskier Than Motorcycles

I grew up riding horses, and I agree that they are more dangerous than motorcycles. A few years ago I was working on a forest fire in a very remote area not too far from Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We needed to transport a radio repeater to a mountain top so we could have adequate radio...

    NAFO Dates Set!

Well, in the location-guess pool, I will take Colorado Springs. It's 70 miles from Denver and the elevation is 6,000'. What prize do I get when I win? :dirol:

    We Lost a Friend

Damn! I feel like I've been punched in the gut. My thoughts go out to Sherri and Graham, and the rest of his family.

    Ride Pics

Here's one that I took while doing the Iron Butt Association 50 National Parks in 25 States Tour. The Friendship Hill site in PA was the home of Albert Gallatin, a protege of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. The driveway to the site grabbed my attention.
