    Wire Routing

Conversely, you can put your strips up in the front fairing, unless you intend to frequently tinker with it... (Click on the pic to see a bigger version)

Sounds like a great deal. Run one again outside of the Christmas buying season and I'd gladly join in. Best wishes to all lucky enough to swing it now...

    Question for Autocom users

My SuperAVi kit included a "noise cancelling" (volume adjusting) mic for the driver's headset. The documentation clearly calls for the mic to be placed in an externally exposed location. In my case, it sticks out of the bottom back of the helmet (i.e. the back of my neck), slightly shifted 6"...

    Question for Autocom users

Correct, most installations are positioned in a way that makes true ride-time adjustment out of the question. To be safe, you'll have to simply perform this somewhere you can ride, stop/adjust, ride more, readjust. It shouldn't take more than a few time to do so, though. Personally, I've very...

Gen II Busa speedometer vs GPS readings

It's also worth noting that this is not unique to motorcycles. The ONLY automobile I've driven (an admittedly narrow list) where the speedo was very close to GPS/actual was my BMW Z4. Every American and Japanese make I've rented or borrowed has had a higher % speedo overstatement. The Z4...

    The Death of Andrew Knight

NAFO - I think a short but tasteful review of all members lost over the previous year would be appropriate. Keep it short as not to dwell on the topic too long (I know *I* wouldn't want my passing to drag things down but would appreciate a few moments to be remembered). Perhaps one...

    Corbin Modular

I have a corbin saddle I picked up off the classifieds here a couple months back, not the modular one, but it works with the modular Smuggler I have on the back. It is lower. If you're interested in a swap, let me know, as I like the "feel" but don't like how low it sits.

    We Lost a Friend

I've been away from the forum since this weekend and am stunned by all this. I've been very upset for a couple hours, but let me just say belatedly that no words can express how liked, respected and enjoyable Andrew was to this community. Words fail to express both our sorrow and our...

    ******* helmet question?

Count the number of times you wish you could flip up your helmet to talk to someone beside you without removing your helmet. Now add the number of times you've needed to stick a Camelbak mouthpiece in while still riding. That's the number of times you'll ever use a flip-up feature from...

Want to ride 3 or 4 Nov?

I'm 2 days post-op, but I already went riding yesterday (Costco for food!) If you're around next weekend, I might be ready for a regular ride. I'm already planning on going back to work Monday as I'm amazed how "up and about" you feel after laproscopic procedures!

Bye for a while, guys and gals

Holy crap, that was easy. I went under around 2, was up at 4:30, in my room and taking liquids and jello at 6 and released by 9 the next morning. Just have 5 spots on the upper belly that look like super-glued-over bullet wounds and one lower small cut....gotta love Laproscopic stuff! No...

Bye for a while, guys and gals

Short of a new earthquake or other act of God to further delay things, I'm finally getting in there this Friday, 11/2 at noon. When I'm healed up, I'll post an "ok". Thanks again to all in the community for your words of support.

    Great PCIII map for 06

Bye for a while, guys and gals

Surgery cancelled due to the fires sweeping North SD County. I was in Poway for a date last night (hoping to get a last bit of fun before going under, ha ha) and it was the weirdest experience of my life. Ash blowing like drifting snow, clothes stink like I spent all night at a scout campout...

Bye for a while, guys and gals

I've mentioned it on previous rides, now the day has arrived... After 3+ years of investigation, a bitter divorce where weight was one issue and a lot of years of trying on my own, I'm heading in Monday morning for bariatric "Lap Band" surgery where my new stomach will be reduced to about an...

Fleeing Rider Runs Over LEO !!

My first thought is that the reported distances are ********. I'm sorry, but the office flew 30 feet in the air? That's *10 yards* in the air, and nobody weighing 170+ pounds is gonna be launched ten yards in the air. Same thing or worse with the driver, 100 feet in the air? Think about it...
