    Another Problem FJR

We're all rather disappointed in your lack of creativity in trouble spotting. There has to be something: ghost clunk, tranny whine (not to be confused with being voted NAFO Queen), incipient center stand failure, lack of a center stand altogether as a result of believing your bike can do...

    Wobbles tun to tank slapper!

This probably deserves a new thread, but the top case buffeting & the FJR "bubble" of air behind the windshield got me to thinking. Has anyone else gotten really good mpg riding two up & loaded? I have on a couple of occasions and it made me wonder if the Yammie engineers didn't factor a...

    SO-FLO

Errr, there are a few curves in FL (but not south FL). Try US 98 from Perry to Port St. Joe in the panhandle. Right on the Gulf & has a few twists in it. Also check out motorcycleroads.us for scenic & curvy stretches (put 'em together and you've got a scurvy ride).

    Mike's Cycleport Gear - Mike's KLR

Nice job with the forensic analysis & pics. Is there any way to get hold of the helmet? I would very much like to see what the foam under the shell looks like.

    Rain X

I'm still guilty of using Rain-X on my plastics even though I know better. I haven't had any bad experiences at the molecular level...yet. I figure helmet shields are inexpensive enough (if the stuff simply shortens a plastic's life rather than turning it milky) compared to the costs of not...

    V-Max vs FJR

Joe, I came to the FJR from a 06 v-max. Max is an excellent machine & a hoot, but give me the FJR any day and twice on Sunday. I traded the Max after my third long trip on it (but had 16k on it at that point) because it's a pita trying to fuel it if you're carrying soft saddle bags & a tail...

    Clutch not disengaging

They changed the shape, and I believe the volume, of the master cylinder. Oh yeah, they changed the location of the clutch from Gen I to Gen II to accommodate the AE YCCS. I'm on clutch #2 & have been having difficulty both upshifting and downshifting--again. Had an appointment tomorrow to...

I didn't know they make snow tires for bikes (excepting those really cool ice racing tires).

    Pilot Road 2 - who's got 'em?

Called customer service & got September 10th as the earliest order date & the statement "they are currently being shipped to the U.S."

    Saddlebag attachment point covers

Looking to stock up on the little snap in covers that hide the attachment points when the saddlebags are off. Please PM if you have a bike you're parting out. -Andrew

Take the bike back to the dealer and ask them to check the torque on the steering head nuts.

    Weirdest weather phenom encountered

Recently had a life-changing experience. On a mid-length trip, 2-up, loaded heavy with camping gear, we ran into a "significant weather event" (i.e., a thunderstorm with gale-force winds, 2-inch+ per hour rainfall, and lightning that would've made Zeus jealous). Temp dropped 8 degrees then...
