    Brake Bleed sequence on 2014

Darn good question John...... it won't be much. One can only presume it is the same amount of fluid to push out the caliper pistons, which I presume is more than what is "trapped" in those fluid circuits. IMHO, I'd bleed everything first, activate the ABS, and bleed some from one front caliper...

    Brake Bleed sequence on 2014

Pants, there is a front and rear fluid circuit in the (one) ABS pump (ST1300 had two pumps). If you never activate the ABS, that fluid doesn't move or get circulated into fresh stuff, it just stagnates there.

Cruise Control Not Working- 2014 A

Mikerider is right. If you have fault codes show up on a 2016, the only way to clear them is to take it to the dealer or buy your own diagnostic tool.

Cruise Control Not Working- 2014 A

And looks like 2016 owners will have to do the same unfortunately.

    Brake Bleed sequence on 2014

The ABS circuits within the pump will not get flushed unless the valves are operated. I believe the sticking problems revealed in the past were simply that those circuits did not get flushed. The best way is using the jumper method at the ABS connector up by the battery and faster than going...

    Torque loss after service.

Ha ha, I might be old, but I figured it out on the first pics... BTDT. Another way to look at it is rotate the cams until the marks do line up, then look at the crankshaft end. It will be off, and what's most likely happened is the chain dropped down while the CCT was out.......... if the tech...

    Torque loss after service.

I would give the dealer a chance to respond........ especially the tight valve clearance, but, it's not that hard to see where the timing went off. IF the tech did not remove the right engine cover, he could not see the timing marks. Nor would he have zip tied the cam chain as WE all know how...

    Rust

There are rust converters that turn rust into a ready-to-paint finish..... I'd gently clean it with a fine Scotch-Brite and coat it...... I don't think I'd paint it, paint doesn't withstand contact with fuel over the long haul. Meanwhile, I think lots of us got that rust issue. Now that you...

    FJR Tech Day XIII

Joe's right, not all. But, if you can look up the specs...... if not, you won't likely let the smoke out with a PWM since you are cutting power, not adding. Problem solved by plugging yer lights into 110V, watching the smoke, then buying new lights.

    med question

Never had one, Ray..... seems simple enough. Maybe this will help. https://www.heartandstroke.com/site/c.ikIQLcMWJtE/b.3484085/k.6FB8/Heart_disease__Angiography.htm?gclid=CNnWuN2d7M4CFQQEaQodrDwNwg

    spinal injections

Hey, Big Ray, I think all you gotta do is cut back on the reubens and all will be good. Or at least lay off the mustard. Continued well wishes and hope it all gets resolved.

Wheaton and wifey - North by Northwest

Enjoyed your whole trip report, Wheatie, the Great White North Liberation Army had you under surveillance the whole time. I especially liked the part about the Icefields Parkway and the photos that brought back memories.. last time I was there it was 90F on the highway and 36F when I drove down...

    Beemerdon's Spirit Goes to Ireland

Once way back, Don and Mick were adrift at sea for days in a rowboat, hoping for a rescue but saw no boats or planes in sight..... a bottle floats alongside, Mick picks it up and wipes it off. A genie appears and says, you get one wish. Mick jumps at the opportunity and says, "Please make this...

    Got side case straps?

Russ is right, they're not elastic....... but I have a set if you want them and don't need them mailed to you until late September when I'll be on your side of the border again. You'll owe me a cold beverage one day.....

    Corbin All Day Seat Mod

I totally get it and agree with what you've done. As I said in post 8, if I had a Corbin again, first thing I would do is put some foam in it...... I have an original Corbin on another older bike which has lots of foam (from Corbin) and it is really comfortable. Don't know why Corbin doesn't...

Power commander on Gen 3 bike

The engine temperature is controlled by the thermostat, it should never run "cooler". The combustion temperature is mostly a product of fuel (higher octane, slightly less heat).

    Shifting issue identified, culprit found

Engine oil choice can sometimes influence shift quality..... perhaps try Rotella 15W40 and see if it improves.

What did you do to your FJR today?

Are there still issues with the cruise and/or the ES being disabled while the CEL is on? That would truly suck and Yamaha needs to come up with this fix ASAP.
