    Happy Birthday, rogdeb!

Happy almost belated b-day (tried to type bleated b-day, but that'd be Bust's)

    190/55?

Shorter dogbones (to raise the rear) kept my pegs attached to the bike until I could afford proper suspension, so if it were me, I'd be all over achiu's offer (My Gen I dogbones were $100 retail - and are now sitting in a coffee can in the garage). I also shoved the forks down until they were...

    A Ride with Friends

Amazing how a little cleavage :dribble: makes food taste better, not that this food needed any help. And Tyler, PLEASE, I'm not talking about the construction worker butt cleavage in your last post, so no need to amplify with more examples (unless you use wimmenz construction workers).

    A Ride with Friends

Jeebus Simon. If we TOLD you, the roads might become well-traveled and then where would we be? You have to come back up here and we'll SHOW you. Except for the unplanned route changes (FINE, I took a wrong turn once a bunch of times), the ride was roughly: Auburn -> 49S -> continue E on...

    A Ride with Friends

FOOK! I was gonna comment on how gorgeous the day was and how much fun we had, but with Tyler's thong post, the time will be better spent bleaching my eyeballs. How did we get from preferring to watch lesbian **** to THAT?!? Oh yeah - Thanks for suggesting the ride Michael - had a BLAST with...

FJR on the Way - Suggestions

First key bit of info - Gen I is 2003-2005 in North America. Gen II is 2006 - present. Pretty much the only things that can be swapped interGen are wheels, exhaust, some engine parts, and saddlebags. Almost all the aftermarket bits: Seats, windshields, plastics, handlebar risers, and spring...

FJR initially sputters after starting on hot days

Cali-version FJRs are in the vast majority with this symptom. Probably something to do with the carbon canisters https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?s...09&hl=rough

LD Trip - East + West planning... Best Spare Key Ideas?

How about in the pocket of your riding suit? Other idea I liked was SacMike cut the top off a key and keeps the functional part in his wallet. Neither is as likely to get your bike stolen as posting a "hiding place" on teh intarweb.

    Inflating your odometer reading

Flip the readout from Miles into Km - you'll fool all but the observant (Wait, do GenIIs have that feature? - I know the superior GenIs do).

    Laminar Lip

Ionbeam, When I bought odexplorer's w/s last year, he threw in a set of new windshield stays (I guess that's what you call the things the plastic w/s bolts thread into). PM me your address and I'll shoot some your way. RsvlFeej

    Shock Time

How much do you weigh? Do you ride 2up? Do you ride with saddlebags loaded? I weigh about 250# and generally ride with lightly loaded side cases. My OEM shocks went 4k (catastrophic failure - replaced under warranty), 25K, 22K before I picked up a Penske 8983. I'm sorry I waited so long to...

Freakin cell phones, blackberries, GPSs, iPhones, etc.

Yup. HATE the fricken things. Quit counting the number of times I've correctly guessed which car ahead is meandering because the 'operator' is playing with his/her e-vices while driving. Recently heard (then watched the aftermath) of a rear-ender on the highway outside our office building...

    Help! Seat Stuck

+1 on checking the battery cables first. Had repeat offenders on my bike until I finally put teflon tape on the threads to make them thicker (Yeah, I know, wrong application, but it's been working for 2 or 3 years now)

They Almost Got Me This Time

Wow Mike. Glad you're around to tell the tale.

    A Couple of Things

Are you loving the new suspenders? Stars gotta align at least 3 ways (shock, work, wife), but sounds like a fine idea, sir, a fine idea.

    A Couple of Things

I was just thinking the same thing, except at that range my old 30-30 should do the trick. So no WFO for you either, OM? If I get my shock back in time, I'm considering a day-trip...

    Engine cutting out

Maybe this? 03HiYoSilver found one of the connectors is subject to corrosion. You can also try searching "surge" or "surging" https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?s...mp;#entry267606

    broken glovebow latch.

Couple options in this thread. Seem to recall a similar thread elsewhere, too. https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?s...68&hl=latch

Running Rough after sitting in the sun

Yours sounds a little different. We're talking about ONLY right after startup - say for the first 1/2 mile or first 30 seconds to a minute after starting a bike parked in very hot ambient conditions. Clears itself up, then no more problems at all - once it's clear, you're golden until the next...
