    Essential Farkles for the FJR

I added a Givi E52 to my '08, it works great. Since it will hold two helmets, that means I can store 4 of them, with the saddle bags. (Yes, the saddlebags can hold a full-face helmet, each.) Good luck on the purchase! What are you selling? Or is it gone already?

Drove by where Milpitas Honda used to be. The building's even gone.

    Girls Ride Too! :)

This thread's a year old, but...I have a friend who'd like to sell a Suzuki GS500R...it was his starter bike. He loved it, and kept it well maintained. He's also never dropped it.

    A New Kind of Cop

I am so disappointed with my self for clicking this one. As if the OP wasn't enough.

Comparison of my 06 FJR to my '10 Concours

Let's not derail this into whether or not the slapping he received (if any) was justified or not. That's between him and the admins. I, however, am very glad to have read this. I agonized for quite a while over an 08 c14 or my 08 fjr. In hindsight reading things like this, I feel even better...

    Second-Look tank covers

I hope it's not too late to have the CC company do it...the window to do that is not very long (30 days? 60 days? from purchase). I hope they're not out of business, I too was in the group buy, and have been very happy with the skin I got.

    GIVI installed...unrelated bracket suggestions?

How about small bracket that goes onto the left slider mount-point? Taking the slider off to install and remove the plate doesn't sound too difficult, or even onerous. On re-reading the OP, I see that you don't have sliders installed...find, just install this bracket were they would go then.

Function over Form hand guards mod...

Looks pretty nice! Also looks like you could add blinker lights and maybe even some lesser-importance gauges beind them!

beemerdons & Old Michael and the mail order catalogue

Check your timezones...it is Friday in a bunch of the world. Not that I think the PNW is anywhere near there, though. It kinda sounds like a strange place, based on the stories they have.

    Initial setup

I've been thinking/wondering about a bunch of this kind of stuff too. However, Mike-how do you keep this stuff from getting stolen? When you go on the road, do you just leave all that gear on the bike while you sleep? I presume you sleep off-bike, right? You don't mention a Texas Catheter...

Eureka! Gmax44 -My Helmet Woes are over!

Thanks for the heads-up on the deals at the show! It's here in the SF Bay Area this coming weekend, and I was considering heading in. The San Mateo Convention Center, Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday. I'm currently wearing an HJC Symax II, and am interested in looking at some other...

    Bags vs Key

Sorry to hear about the bad experience...I've wondered about it myself on my '08, and just sort of naturally picked up the 'be gentle with the keys' mantra. Actually, I learned it the hard way with my '77 Celica GT...similar problem with the hatchback. Of all the solutions/suggestions...

Excellent Deal on Clearwater LED Lights

I got one of the first set of lights with the ME-1 addition...it's GREAT! I highly recommend this to everyone. As SacramentoMike points out, they aren't so much for increasing what you can see, as increasing who can see you. I really like the brightness, the fact that they are down low and...

    Helmet noise

I ended up going with Etymotic HF2's. A friend really likes the ER6's. When not on the bike, they give me a headset for the phone, are stereo for music and are sound-isolating for the bike. They work great. When the bike is idling and no music is playing, I can just hear the bike (stock...
