Broken down, needs help - spider problem?

The AWG of the bikes wiring is ridiculously small. I measured the current on some legs of the bridge and my jaw dropped. Some of the wires are around .8mm CSA, all my data is on the other computer. All I do know is my mate had 9 amps through his new bypass loom I made for his bike. You would...

    (Possibly) MC Related Vascular Condition

You have a larger scar than me, lol lol. Chicks dig them. 3 gut operations in 8 days for me, cry. From the bottom of the sternum to pubic bone and no belly button anymore. Glad your recovering well, be back on the bike in no time. I think I'm going to get a "open with care" tattoo, give the...

    Brodie Spider harness needed

It is quite easy to install a wiring loom if you're handy with a soldering iron. Made and fixed my mates bike up one afternoon. Pop off the 6 12 volt bridging pieces and solder some 1.5 mm wire onto each. ( the S1,3,4,6,7 & S8) There are 2 5 volt transducer neutrals that should not be...

What are the symptoms of a shot starter?

The best way to check is to tong test the battery during start up. You will need a DC tong, (current) tester. I think normal starting current is around 80 amps. There was one post here a few years ago where a forum member measured his bikes crook starter and I think it measured around 140...

Idling -- '13+ FJRs vs earlier models

The FI system is explained in chapter 1 of the service manual. It's to do with fuel enrichment during a cold start, governed by coolant temp and less fuel on a warm start.

2006 ground spider problem. Brodie harness replacement

He doesn't make them anymore. Have you checked to see if the recall is still current. You can also solder on pigtails to the 6 12 volt bridging pieces and wire into a trunk wire back to the battery negative. And just treat the 2 5volt connectors.

Would You Perform 600 Mile Service Yourself?

I'll never let a dealer touch my bike, too many horror stories. I've worked on a lot of new bikes that have been "serviced" .......... not! The service scheduled is in the both the owners and service manual (which is a must). There are little things that most dealers don't do here like a TBS...

Is this cord starting to show through?

I always use PR2's, it's a production mark. Just go off the wear bars. The Angel ST's on my Trophy had a real bad mark down the center tread, but apparently it was a result of some factory process or anti static ?????

I'm glad you somewhat survived, good to hear that you are up and about ! Let your body heal, hopefully be be back in the saddle in the near future. I haven't ridden in 5 months, 8 hospitalisations since November, got let out again for Easter. Slowly going through the bikes today, charging...

Cheap sliders? Where to put them?

A mate was using them, had the first bike written off as they deformed the engine mounts. Had his second bike written off again. He doesn't use sliders that mount into the frame anymore. Get at least a 2 point or 3 point attachment, eg Canyon Cages.

2006 Altitude recall question on my new to me FJR

I had a PC 5 on my 07, it improved some of the fueling issues but not all of them. In Australia the ECU wasn't a recall, spent ages arguing with Yamaha Australia. I ended up buying a LCD 200 to data log the fault, it was more of a change of change of altitude fault. Finally a good dealer...

    Sena 20s Reviews with earplugs

I have the SMH10 with the SMH-A303 base, a 3.5mm output for the custom silicon Earmolds I use, no helmet speakers. Get very little wind / road noise, beautiful quality of sound at low volumes. Very happy with the setup, save what little hearing I have left.

Rear caliper locked up when braking hard. now rear doesn't work, 2007 FJR

The only thing I can suggest is to run an ABS diagnostic, plenty of info "how to" on this site. May well be the solenoid block $$$$$$$$
