    2003 parts for sale

Sorry to hear about your bike - hope you are OK? Michalis (mihalisfjr) was looking for a stock screen, I'll shoot him a PM. Only thing I am looking for is a rear brake pedal, but I guess that stays with the bike? Al.

    Bending brake lever

+1. Worked for me recently after a 'gravel adventure'.

Increased Bar Vibration With Bags Off?

I'll be interested to see what you find. Mine is, and always has been, turbine smooth from idle to red-line. Do you have 'no-cut' sliders and/or highway pegs installed?

Increased Bar Vibration With Bags Off?

That is weird! I see you have a 'superior' '04 Gen1, so I had to try it. Only difference was, I had nowhere to put my helmet when I stopped for coffee. Out of interest, are your bags empty or crammed full of 'stuff'? Al.

    Stock seat mods

A local upholstery shop did such a good job of my VeeStrom seat that I took my Gen 1 seat to them. The guy basically cut a big chunk out of the foam towards the rear of the seat and replaced it with blue high density foam, same stuff used on wheelchairs. It was a huge improvement but still...

2005 FJR Running Rich - Stumbling Mid RPM

This is an old post but should still be relevant. Not sure if it will answer your question? https://www.fjrforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=114430 My '04 has never done this. Good luck. Al.

    Happy Birthday Canada!

Oh, sorry Bill. Was the lockout solved? I must have missed that.

    Happy Birthday Canada!

Anyway, back to the OP. Thanks for the kind wishes Dave. Just got back from our multi-cultural events in the park, every type of food you could imagine - except pie! Al. ps The rain has finally gone and gas has dropped 5cents/liter since you were here.

    Kootenay Butt Buster

Hey Griff. I upped my reservation from a 'motel unit' to a 'chalet' so Harry (Harnic) is bunking with me. BTW. We've made repeated attempts to get Harry registered - no luck. I know Jeff is playing 'mini-semi' driver on the other side of the planet, so I suggested getting a ticket off the FB...

    Need a rear brake pedal

Thanks Ray. I'll pack it over to my buddies with a 6-pack - maybe a 36-pack? Never use the thing anyway, so no rush. Al.

    Need a rear brake pedal

After a brush with some gravel on a tight corner, I ended up with, amongst other things, a bent rear brake pedal. Decided to try to 'tweak' it straight - duh! Anyway. Just thought I'd see if anyone has one lying around that they don't need, before I order a new/used one. May talk to my welder...

Any finishing mower experts out there?

Holy crap! This is like my buddies talking golf - a whole new world! I have a Troy Built, 21" Briggs & Stratton, mulcher - now I have 'mower envy'. Al.

    Know your motorcycle!

Good advice. You don't have to be a mechanic. Get a decent shop manual that tells you what thing to check and when - usually with illustrations! This, and other, forums will give you all you need to know, and some things you don't want to know. Al.

    "Headshake"

+1 I'm guessing the forks were re-valved, stiffer springs etc? After installing a Traxxion AK-20 kit in my forks and a Penske shock, it took a while to get the bike set up to how I like it - still not quite there. I would suggest double checking your fork compression, rebound and sag...

East to Crazy Horse Old Man

Good to hear you've still got some get-up-and-go Rog - not bad for a man of your age. Funny, at the WCR get-together, FJRay was talking about Hwy 50. His opinion was the same as yours. Looking forward to the pics. Two months younger Al.
