    Must Haves?

I have done quite a bit to my FJR to make it work better for me but only three things I would consider "must haves": A better windshield that won't cause permanent hearing damage; Mirrors that actually let me see what's going on behind me, and A set of tires that don't suck after 2500...

    Why, Yamaha, WHY?!

    Good God you're old!

    New Australian V8 Motorcycle

"2.0 liters is reasonable" Maybe for the family sedan. What's reasonable about a 300+hp motorcycle?

    New Australian V8 Motorcycle

As a technological tour de force, sure. As a motorcycle, it's no Morbidelli.

    Floor jack lift cup...

They're to prevent axels or frame members from sliding off. I wouldn't use a jack without them. Rather than remove them, cut a piece of 2X to fit in the cup and act as a pad when lifting body members or under your bike's headers.

Dead FJR - no starter engage/spin

    Kill switch "off"?

To dwell or not to dwell, that is my question......

It the days before electronic ignition I always set dwell. Gap alone did not give as good a "tune", IMO. Still have a dwell meter but probably haven't used it in 25 years. At one time I had a car with dual ignition. It had two of everything. Distributors, plugs, coils, etc. You could tune...

    Gold Wing thought experiment

I rode a Gold Wing for 13 years. I came to realize I was too young for a Gold Wing so I traded it in for an FJR. That was ten years ago. I turn 60 on Sunday.

    My son's 1st Motorcycle ride

So totally awesome! My youngest son, now 14, also started riding with me when he was 7. He has since averaged about 5K miles a year with me. Nearly anyone who knows me knows my son, Alex. He's been everywhere and shares my enthusiasm for motorcycling. Take it easy, build his respect for...

    How I did a Heat Troller Set-up

How deja vu-ish. I did virtually the same thing on my '06. One difference: I located the Heattroller in the space beside the glove box. But like yours, neat and tidy install. Bravo.

Replace my Zumo 550 with ?

OK, seriously this time. You can get a refurbed Zumo 660 for about $280. Functionally a great unit albeit somewhat hard to read the screen in daylight. Includes lifetime map updates.

Replace my Zumo 550 with ?

I suggest you wait till you can afford a 276Cx. Or sell a kidney.

My F-350 is pissing me off

Chevy's the best. I rather push a Ford than drive a Chevy. I'll never buy another Ford. Dodge Ram FTW. Blah blah blah Yada yada yada. As with just about everything else in life: YMMV ~600K miles on Fords in this century alone. Nothing lasts forever.

    Anyone seen this electrical anomaly?

Good to know. Mine worked for about a year or so. Right up until it didn't. About 250 miles from home.

"I thought the plan was around 2-3" OK, that'll work. Thanks. Hope to see some of you on Saturday. It's been awhile.

I'll be heading straight to Fatheads for lunch on Saturday. Any idea what time everyone's heading over?

    No Headlights

An '09 FJR and a '75 Bronco. This man has his priorities straight.

Turn signal indicators lit? Windshield go up and down? Horn work?
