Lessons Learned on changing the CCT

Awesome write up Bill. Had I seen that last fall it might have prevented me from doing this.............. <_<

UpperCan400 Moto Rally - and NOT the CFR (for me)

I had to change that cause I realized it could blow up in my face.......with the cost of preparing the rally packages and organizing the volunteers to look after scoring, not to mention the food for the BBQ, I have to know numbers well in advance. June 11th at midnight is the deadline. Sorry if...

    pazzo knock offs

That does suck.......sorry for starting this thread, and suggesting people try them out. Didn't mean for folks to get hosed. I used Motomarts through eBay. They actually sent me a photo of the package with my mailing address on it, and it was at my house in less than a week....can't vouch for...

UpperCan400 Moto Rally - and NOT the CFR (for me)

Awesome Bungie!!! I look forward to meeting you! That's too bad about CFR. I plan on leaving Monday morning and pulling an SS1000 on my way out. Although my wife would prefer I have a "riding buddy". I'm still workin' on it...... Sure you can't make it out?? I'm staying for...

UpperCan400 Moto Rally - and NOT the CFR (for me)

Yep.....I've made a few changes to the rules and I am going to release a bonus location map 12 hours prior to the start via e-mail. It seems like there's lots of time but it goes quickly from and organization standpoint  Oh, and I lowered the donation amount (to $75) due to the rising...

    cam/crank timing

Ok.....Then we can agree to disagree(no offence). I did a valve clearance check over the winter and found all of them to be tight so I had to remove the cams. I removed the CCT after I had the covers off to see what happens. You are correct that the chain will slack a bit between the cams as...

    cam/crank timing

If all you did was remove the old CCT and re-install the new CCT, then there is nothing to worry about. The chain will not jump teeth by itself during that procedure. BTW the timing is not adjustable on the FJR. Either the marks line up or they don't. Even if it is out by one tooth it would be...

    e-fill fuel siphon

Looks like a handy item. Where did you find it and why would you carry it around on the bike? I know the cost of gas is going up, but the tube doesn't look long enough to get down into an automotive tank. Then you would need a gas can.....unless you can really lower the bike

    Spring hasn't sprung

That sucks  I rode into work tonight at 6, and the roads were dry into Toronto......but an hour later and it's snowing like crazy!! I'm thinking "crap, how am I gonna git home?" then I remembered I have a CT on the back. Shouldn't have any problems with the snow ;) ;) It stopped...

I finally rode to work today for the first time this year!!! :yahoo: .........more to the point........I installed an '05 very low Km shock I received from Fossilrider (thank you) and what a difference!!! feels like a totally different bike, and much more stable all around. Well worth it.

    TBS - high idle

I think it just fixed itself...............  I ran it a few times to bring the temps up and check for leaks before I button it back up. Today the idle went down to 800 and I had to turn up the screw....Yay!! I'll do another sync at 4K and see what happens.
