How to change a buddy`s mind to buy an FJR

The thing that scares me away for Kawasaki are the number of recalls that they have had in the past. They just recalled the Ninja 250 for a fuel leak. I just feel that the QC is a bit below that of the other Japanese bike manufacturers.

    Secret Waterfall Rides - Wed. 1/27 & Sat. 1/30

It is a great ride and well worth it.

ATGATT Won't save us from this duo

Daddyman, at least you did what you could. It is hard to prove , but I wonder how many accidents would have been avoided by paying attention to driving instead of multitasking?

Thinking of selling fjr, what do you think?

I find riding a great stress reliever for myself. I did however stop riding for a period of time. Live just became very busy and I did not have the time. I was married at 28 and we had 3 kids. I started 3 businesses and my wife passed away from CA by age 40. Now that the kids are grown I have...

    FJR Comparison Test

The BMW's may hold their value better and they are cheaper to buy in the EU countries. However, the thing that made me steer away from them was not just the initial cost, but the price of parts from the manual to the battery. I found it as what ever it was to do on a FJR multiply it by 2 for...

What the heck were they thinking?

Is there space for one even with an N-Line in place? It would be great for going through the drive thru... once!

    Highbridge nice

They are doing these rolling target areas. They had the BMW's on I-5. I rode highbridge around till 203 and I played over there for a while earlier in the week.

    The big Rock

The roads are pretty scummy with gravel and debris. I did the back roads today ( carpenter and the rest into Granite Falls and I had to keep the speed down, but as always it was still great!

My new to me FJR arrived last week

I figured you would get it soon Chris. What is not to love! The spring Tech meeting is coming up so figure on riding up North a bit. The PNW crew know the bike and are great people too.

    Which to get?

All are good but , the 2008 is the best value at this point due to inventory. The 2006 is fine, but most people add the G2 to smooth the throttle out , and Yamaha did it in starting 2008. I would not rule out a good deal on a Gen I in good shape either if I could find one. In some ways they are...

    AE purchase

I have one and love it. It causes so much less fatigue. I was unsure at first, but after a day of use on a long ride I was sold on it.

    8k Service

I agree with Brodie, it is not as easy on the FJR AE and with ABS. More "stuff" to deal with and get in the way too. I have since living in the PNW changed it every year on other bikes. Brake and clutch fluid , since it is very hygroscopic and inevitably absorbs water, can contribute to...

    The big Rock

Geez the rocks are falling already. Highway 2 https://www.flickr.com/photos/wsdot/4282308940/. I hope we don't have another falling rock year..

    8k Service

I am getting ready to do the 8k service, and the bike is running great too. I question to need to swap the plugs at 8k (In light of Fred's Plug thread and Johnny getting almost 30k out of his stock ones) and do the throttle bodies sync. Do most do it ? I was going to wain until the 12 Oil change...

Gold Wing Forward Lean Position vs FJR with Risers

+1 not much to add. To get the pain out of your wrists get your rear up, knees in the grooves and lean on the tank. It is so much more comfortable and I feel very connected, making it easier and smoother riding.

    New FJR Owner

A pretty big jump in rides. I think you will like the FJR a lot. The B650 handles surprisingly well, the FJR is even better and faster doing it.

memories for thos of us older than dirt

Geez we must all be old goats. Maybe we can all go to the same old folks home and race scooters and pinch the nurses after slamming too many prune juice shooters! Remember when they used to fill the tank, wash the windows, check under the hood and tire pressure? Or Drive-ins? Anyone ever...
