    Alaska May 22-June 3

Ken the Pilot road I tires suck! You would have done a lot better with the pilot road II or the new Dunlop road smart. I've gone over to the :ninja: dark side with the Goldwing during our Alaska trip . I don't think I'll be staying on the dark side after this tire...not sure yet? It's...

    Battle Born ShakeDown ~~~RIDE REPORT~~

:clapping: :clapping: Wow! Awesome! That is such a great report. I've had many great experiences on my trips, but I would never be able to relate them in a report like that. It takes a special talent to be able to relate ones experiences so well. Hope to see more.

    Alaska May 22-June 3

Great report Ken! :clapping: Wish I had talent relating our experiences. Sent you an email with a few pictures. It got kicked back the first time for being too big. I re-sent it with only 3 pictures. Hope you get it. Hope the address is correct...comcast? Christa and I hope...

    Geezer's WFO trip report

Hey Geezer, John and Christa here in Alaska reading your report. Wish I could write something half as good as you did. Why I don't ever know how to post pictures! We are about half way through our trip now....miles wise. We came up from the WFO through glacier, on to Banff, Lake Loise, Jasper...

WFO8 Dates - Official - new Rally Master

:D This might just work. Had plans for a trip up to Alaska around that time. A stop in Idaho might be a good break! :drinks: BTW, Who's that other FJRVFR guy? :dntknw:

Germans want to see the US

Are you planning on shipping your bikes or renting? I have met up with a couple of groups from Italy and Germany while crossing the country. Both these groups shipped their bikes to New York, rode across the country and shipped them back from LA. The italian group all had gold wings. We even...

    Gas Effects?

Gas isn't the only thing, but it is a big thing. My plans have changed. I was originally planning on pulling my trailer and camping some days. With the difference in gas milage, it is not worth while anymore to camp. I drop down about 6mpg pulling the trailer. In 6,000 miles that's an extra...

    Denver Area map

We stayed in Frisco/Dillon/Silverthorne area on our way to the WFO. We stayed in Silverthorne an had no problem finding a room. It was a very nice area and had some good restraunts. I don't know if they have a facilities big enough for this group though?

    Update on EOM routes

That is no doubt a good route, however, you are looking at 450 to 500 miles and 10-12 hours and IIRC the section of 91 over the mountain is dirt - good dirt - but nonetheless dirt for about 10 miles or so. Have fun though, kick up a gravel or two for me! EOM 3 does not travel I-81 btw, it...

    Update on EOM routes

I have a suggested change to EOM-3. Going south on rt #16 from Tazewell, Va, instead of turning up I81 why not continue south on rt #16 to Mouth of Wilson and turn west onto rt #58 over to Damascus? This section of 58 is not only senic, but has some of the most technical riding around. From...

    EOM Day trips

Another 2 or 3 cents worth. If you ride into Va try and include rt #311 down through Paint Black and rt #58 over to Damascus. You can head up north from Damascus on rt #92 which leads you through some interesting areas including a short ride on gravel road, but worth it. Also my favorat is rt...

    sidebag scratched, from tipover..

My bags got scratched a number of times. It's so easy and inevitable they stick out so far. Instead of re-painting them each time I painted them with a can of Dupli-color spray in bed liner. I think they look just as good and now I don't worry about scratches because they don't show and it's...
