Motorcycle sales statistics for August '09, and Q1 & Q2 '09. Individual OEM stats are broken out (not quite as secret as some owuld like us to believe...): Motorcycle Sales Statistics Sobering to say the least...

Rumors of a Honda Supersport apparently false

Good question, which leads me to wonder whether an airbag will be standard on all bikes or a specially optioned model like the Gold Wing Airbag. I'd guess the latter...

Rumors of a Honda Supersport apparently false

A feature of one of the patent submission illustrations (below) that immediately caught my attention is the very upright riding position with feet positioned behind lower fairing. Either the engineer that drafted this drawing got it way wrong (and nobody caught it prior to submission), or this...

Rumors of a Honda Supersport apparently false

Great find! It confirms that the VFR1200 platform isn't stopping at the "F"; a "T" is yet to come. And, again, kudos to Honda for continuing to push the technology - and in this case safety, envelope.

Ah, gee ****** thanks, 'Howie... Now I've gotta go poke out my mind's eye with a stick..! :glare:

Rumors of a Honda Supersport apparently false

If I'm being lumped into that "fanboy" category, that's fine by me. I am a big fan of this bike and hope it does really, really well. I'm a fanboy because I like technology. It's what I do for a living and thus anytime I see technology being moved ahead - right, wrong or otherwise, I tend to be...

Rumors of a Honda Supersport apparently false

Nope, wouldn't think of it. Valid points all... The reality is that I wouldn't buy this bike. It's not because I don't like its aesthetics; I do. I think it's a very attractive bike (though I prefer the white model...). And I really like the fact that Honda is pushing the envelope on both...

Rumors of a Honda Supersport apparently false

I ask the same question... I can't see that "upsizing" this platform to an ST or FJR class bike makes much sense. This may well wind up being their ST replacement, with a line-up looking like this: NT700V, VFR1200F, Gold Wing. (As an aside, who wants to start placing bets that the VFR1200F will...

Rumors of a Honda Supersport apparently false

Updated review from Motorcycle USA: 2010 Honda VFR1200F First Ride I think it's apparent that the moto press is suitably impressed with this bike, with a growing consensus that Honda got this one right...

MotoGP Sepang 2009 - SPOLIER ALERT!!!!!!!!

Outstanding photography work! But I have to agree with UberKul concerning the absence of umbrella girls. After all, what's a MotoGP race without them..? ;)

    The LORD of Yamaha ADVENTURES

In all fairness to the Austrians and Germans, I think every OEM enjoys a bit of, shall we say, "marketing optimism"..? ;) (Obviously, the figures I quote are taken from the KTM and BMW websites. Those are, incidentally, the same numbers they report/have reported to the US DOT.) The point...

Rumors of a Honda Supersport apparently false

Where do people keep coming up with this 400lb number (or are we getting punked..)? If the 660 Tenere is 454lbs (206kgs) wet, unless the 1200 Super is made out of Titanium I can assure you it's going to come in at least as porcine as a 1200 GS (@ 504lbs/229kgs wet). EDIT: Sorry...

Rumors of a Honda Supersport apparently false

More reviews are starting to roll in from the mainstream rags... Cycle World: First Ride: 2010 Honda VFR1200F Motorcyclist: First Impression: 2010 Honda VFR1200F Obviously, those that have actually ridden the bike are pretty jazzed about the dual-clutch transmission (DCT). I'm getting jazzed...

That's all well and good, but the Super Tenere isn't a bike we're likely to see here anytime soon - if ever...

I searched for that number earlier and came up with a figure of 35L ea. Does that sound right..?
