    top Box / Trunk

I went this exact route and have been very happy with the Givi. As I ride daily to work (well, maybe not every day this winter) the box volume is great for everything I need.

    Saga of the blowing fuse...

You are pretty much right on wfoo - It is hard to believe that the original install used wire so small that the time elapsed for short horn bursts caused the insulation on it to melt - hard to believe but with some shade tree mechanics anything is possible. However you are a little off on your...

So who has actually used a non OE filter

I found a sale on Amazon last year for the Purolator filters reccomended as replacements. Bought 8, free shipping, about $25. When I got them I spray painted them all black. Have gone through a few already. My engine has not imploded.

My dealer is going to hate me

Free donuts??? Damn! I rode by your place on Thursday (up 91 to 291) to go to our branch in S Windsor. 2nd day out on the bike this Winter. If I only knew!

    We lost a friend Lgjohn

Really sorry to read your post. My thoughts & prayers go out to his famnily. Especially terrible that you had to be the ones to break the news to the family.

    Adjustable Cowlings

FWIW I tried them in both positions this past fall when the early morning temps were dropping into the 40's. As much as I 'wanted to' believe, I really don't think they much of a difference either way. . . Perhaps there is some difference in warm weather that can be felt???

Just got the phone call I've always dreaded about a fellow PGR member...

Sorry for your loss Mike. My best wishes go out to his family.

    Waa Waa

Here it is - 15 degrees, 8 inches of snow / ice packed on the ground and I have a terminal case of cabin (motorcycle) fever. . . I can't even get the bike from my regular garage to the one in the basement because of all the damn snow in the backyard. At least if I could do that I would be able...

    Cornering confidence

I came from putting 250K miles on wings. They are very capable for what they are and I liked my last one ('03) a lot. That said, they just don't hold a candle to the fjr in the handling department. Annually I changed by footpegs on the wing due to measuring the road surface with them. I have...

Sport Touring Rides 2009 - North and South

I met my son (FZ-1) for the Carlisle ride this year. The route we took was a blast. The people we met were great. A real fun event! I am going to try to make both of these.

    Planning Alaska...

I rode from Connecticut to Alaska 2 years ago. One of my concerns was having enough gasoline between stations. Not a problem at all. The 2 gallon gas can I was carrying was given away in Fairbanks. Whenever I was at 1/2 a tank or less I stopped at the next gas station. The Alaska Highway was...

    Winter tear down?

Thanks for all the replies. I will probably put it up this weekend & start working on it in a couple of weeks. Took a nippy drive Sunday for about 100 miles - it was 27 degrees when I left & 35 by the time I got home. Maybe time to do some wiring for gloves while I have it apart :)

    Winter tear down?

For the first time ever I am considering putting the bike up for winter - actually down for winter, my mc lift is in a basment garage. Once I put it down there I am really committed to keeping it there until spring as getting it out of the back yard is pretty tough in wnter. Sooo. . . I am...

    Gloss black Givi e52 on a 2008

I just bought this https://www.premiercycleaccessories.com/Sma...ack_p/11999.htm and their Givi mounting kit (oh yeah, and one helmet lock to mount on it)

    LOUD horn installation

Nice job Harald. This will probably be an 'over the winter' project for me when I strip off some plastic. Fortunately I deal with a customer that has a complete sheet metal shop, including a plasma cutter. They have always been very kind to me with my various bike projects over the years -...

    Happy Thanksgiving

To everyone here on the forum I wish you all a great Thanksgiving - except of course if you are in the UK, in that case, better luck next colony. As crappy as things may seem we have a lot to be thankful for. Enjoy your family then go out & have a good turkey day ride!

6th annual 'Ride to the Rock' Saturday 11/29/08

Hey - Stafford is practically Massachusetts! I am going to try to make it. My guess is I'm about 2 hours from you. Can you email me the way to your house (or at least an address) [email protected]

    Last minute but...

Sorry B.O. but I just saw this. A nice 2 up ride might be straight up RT 7 (it is north of 84, tho). You can stop at Kent for some yuppie lunch, go slightly farther to Kent Falls & picnic or keep going to West Cornwall (covered bridge) and have lunch there. You could keep going all the way up 7...
