    performance award technicality

So, were you on I-70? 55 mph or 70 mph zone? Highway Patrol, City Cop, or sheriff? Just curious where they are patroling the most down that way. Good luck.

    Real tire pressure monitoring

A good friend & riding buddy has used the Smartire system on a GW1800 for a couple of years now & is very happy with it. Personally I have no experience or connection with Smartire. I think it monitors both front & rear with temperture & pressure. Not sure about the law for motorcycles but I...

    FJR 0 to 60 in 2.5 sec?

I remember seeing road tests on gen I FJR's 0-60 @ 2.6 seconds. Not to start a battle but my 05 did feel a bit quicker than the 07. It tended to wheelie a bit easier also. There was a minor gear ratio change between Gen I & Gen II's, also the Gen II's have a bit longer swing arm. I have...

    Cover-Up?

Several years ago the wife bought me a Geza cover for the 2000 Concours. I've used it on three bikes now including the Concours, 05 FJR & 07 FJR. The cover is water repellent not waterproof & fits tight-think Spandex. It does pack small & I take it on tours & the that is the only time it gets...

    Question for KC area members

Bought a new 05 & later a new 07 from Reno's in south K.C. They did/do all my service work & I have not had a single take back. They were competitive on price. You might find a bit cheaper. I currently have no plans to change dealers. I live about 60 miles from the dealership. Other than...

Can I get some opinions on beginner Bikes

I always recommend a 250 to start. I don't want a new rider trapped under a heavy bike while the exhaust cooks a leg. A second consideration is the inseam length. It's good to be able to get both feet flat footed at stops while learning to ride. Moving up to a larger bike after suitable...

    J &M Intercom System

Had the J & M for several years. Good equipment, pricey & don't expect any technical info from the factory. They will modify/repair things for you at their facilities. PS I selected an antenna at a truck stop to save significant bucks over their antenna prices.

    Rear touring trunk aerodynamics

As others have mentioned; discussed a bunch in the past. It seems to depend on where the rider has the windshield height set & also if there is an oversized windshield. Had a Givi E360 on an 05 with a Rifle Touring W/S normally all the way up & no issues. I've now got an 07 with a stock W/S &...

Anything i should look for on a usde FJR

Stuff you probably already know but if you don't: Basically tickers are confined to Gen I (through 05). Gen II are generally geared a tiny bit taller. My Gen I speedo was on the button, my Gen II is about 4 mph optimistic. Gen II feels a bit more refined to my senses, Gen I a bit more...

How do you stock seat guys do it?

I thought my 05 seat was marginally softer (33K miles total). The 07 a bit more firm(4.5K thus far). I've done 700+ mile days & have no plans to change from the OEM seat. Guess I'm just not as picky.
